Michael Rabone
I've just had a look at the updated table that CTB provides and can't remember the top of the combination league being so close - although CTB may be able to tell me otherwise! At the half way stage, there are a lot of teams in the top half that have already taken points from each other and when the odd shock result is factored in (e.g. St Day vs Port) - it will be interesting to see which way it goes come the end of the season (which is typically rounded off with Culdrose versus Newquay, 5pm kick off on a tuesday afternoon in June!) Unbeaten Penryn have the points in the bag and are the draw specialists in the league, Illogan have games in hand and an excellent win ratio, Helston are still very much in the equation and are scoring a lot of goals, Falmouth, Newquay and Pezance have put a good run together recently and Perranwell have crept up the table winning their games in hand. St Day will no doubt push on with so many games in hand and St Just/Troon are capable of beating any team in the league (as they have shown this season). I'm not sure which way it is going to go, but it certainly beats having a team with 100+ points with a goal difference of +150 walking away with it!
