Mining 2

Mount Ambrose 0 - West Cornwall 9

Good game with the score slightly closer at half time (1-0) with MA still in the game. After being forced to make two substitutions in the 1st half it got worse for them as in the early mins of the 2nd half WC scored 2. Then another was added almost straight from kick off which sealed the victory.

Well done to both teams on a pitch that held out in the end but was difficult to play flowing football.

Good luck MA for the rest of the season.

Well done to West Cornwall today, were better than us in every department and played the conditions better we just never really got going and to be honest they could have been 2 or 3 up at half time, having to bring on a 16yr old keeper at right back didnt help and another player walking off mid way through the 2nd leaving us wiv 10 men really took the piss, some heads dropped and west cornwall punished us as any good team would, time to re-group and another toughie againt Trevenson in the cup next week, just hope it stops bloody raining cause it was feckin horrible out there today :drink:

Gulval 4 v1 St Ives Mariners

Gulval looked to continue their recent good form with a rare home fixture against a dogged mariners side.Mariners started the game the with a real taste for victory, dictating play and hounding us in posession. It was not long before Ben Reeve in the Gulval goal made a double save from a 1 on 1 situation, real top drawer goalkeeping  .Mariners pushed, and on about 10 mins struck gold, another 1 on 1, Bender saving again only for a player to poke in the rebound. Gulvals performance was really lack luster, until a hopeful punt forward was flicked on for J Harrison to latch on to it and calmly place it past the on coming keeper. Gulval started to get to grip with the task in hand, gradually taking a hold of the game.

1-1 H/T

As the second half got under way, mariners came at us again, creating a chance early on that went over the bar. This gave us the kick up the back side we needed, a goal by Ant Nichollas and another by J Harrison put the game beyond Mariners, but to their credit they kept battling to the end.Ant Nichollas capped off a good display with a cracking 30 yard drive. Both keepers had cracking games today, both teams tried to play football on a difficult pitch. Not one dirty tackle all game, well done to both teams!!

Well reffed, mariners are a cracking bunch of lads, good luck for rest of season :yahoo: :drink:

Four Lanes 1 - 3 Illogan (ht 1 -20

Not the best game in the world but not the best pitch to try and play football on either, still another 3 points though which is the main thing. Brett Adams scored for Four lanes and Johnny Jones, Ian Cunnigham and Adam Callway scored for Illogan to be fair Cally nearly had 2 but as the ball was going in the goal it stuck in a patch of mud on the line ha ha.

Biggest dissapointment of the day were the showers, last thing you want in winter having just played in rain and mud for 90 mins is to come back in and have to try and shower in freezing cold showers!!! 2nd time its happened to us at Clijah not sure if its the clubs or the council but it needs sorting

Goonhavern 2-2 Robartes

Literally A Game Of Two Halves,Robartes,Dominated First Half,Scoring 2 Goals with in Half Hour,Goonhavern Good passing and Counter Attack,Bringing One Back Against The Run Of Play Just Before Half-Time!

Second Half All Goonhavern Mostly!

Cracking Game To Play In,

Good Luck For The Rest Of The Season Goonhavern!

Have to agree with stroker - Robartes dominated the first 15-20 minutes, scoring 2 goals. The first - a wind assisted cross which found its way into the back of the net. The second was a comedy of errors on our part - failed to deal with a corner, had numerous chances to clear the ball but it eventually found its way in.

Goonhavern finally began to exert some pressure on the game and scored on the break after some super work from Chris McCaskie who pretty much ran the length of the pitch before slotting a ball through to Sam Waters who finished well.

Goonhavern started the second half strongly and could have equalised but for a combination of good defending and keeping. Goonhavern finally drew level when Sam Waters grabbed his second of the game firing in from around 20 yards. Robartes didn't really create much for the rest of the game, not that they played poorly, but Goonhavern's back 3 of Kev Tonkin, John Kite and Adam Carlyon were superb. Goonhavern had a goal ruled out for offside late on in a game which they edged to be fair. All in all really enjoyable game, few tasty tackles flying in but nothing which wasn't fair. Really well reffed again. Wouldn't mind Robartes winning the league unless we put a good run together and pip them to it

St.Agnes 7-1 St.Just (HT 2-0)

St.Agnes cancelled the game at 12:15 due to lack of players, however ring back at 12:30 saying they have managed to scrape together a couple. Rather than have the points for nothing, we made the bad mistake of travelling 30 miles to play in the mud against a strong, Falmouth Helston 1 side (6 or 7 players)!!

After a nice lesson in football, changing in a trailer and having no water, yet alone a shower; to cap it all off the pub had closed down!!!!

A bad day, and a bad decision (but better to have played and lost then to have gone christmas shopping!!!!).

Mining League Div. 3

Redruth Utd Res. 3 .v. Trevenson Utd Res. 4

Always a good battle when we meet and yesterday was no different, the conditions playing there part making the pitch slippery. Early exchanges went to Redruth who made good headway with their attacks and scored first when a trademark throw in from Darin Thomas was headed home. A lot of the game was played in midfield with both sides cancelling each other out and no one able to play the killer pass. We forced a corner which was delivered superbly by Shaun Wilkins onto the head of Nathan Watling ghosting in at the far post to equalise. A poor free kick was conceded by us just on half time, Jake Williams hit a peach into the top corner over the wall leaving Trevenson 'keeper Nathan Hick touching nothing but the post - with his head!! Second half and there was no let up in the pace of the game or the commitment shown by both sides. Space was starting to open up in the middle of the park and Redruth hit one from range which took a slight deflection, unfortunately it was enough of one to evade the grasp of Nathan Hick who had set himself to catch the shot. 3 - 1 down away from home, but we never gave up and got an important second after a goal mouth scramble, the ball eventually being buried by Nathan Watling. The game started to go from end to end our tails were up and Redruth were happy to try and catch us on the break. We got our third through Mike Barratt who had been causing problems since coming on as a sub at half time and then the big turning point of the game - Ben Beslee jumped into Darren Copeland after Darren had already won the ball in the air and got his second yellow of the game. From the free kick that was awarded we put the ball in for Steph to score a deserved goal for his excellent work throughout the game as left wing back.

Match was superbly referee'd by John Salmon who was very fair.

That's the double for us over Redruth this season, by the same score line. We have a lot of friends in their side so we wish them sincerely all the best for the season.

St Buryan 1 - Praze 6

Score line does us no justice.

Held are own in the first half, which was a great battle for both sides. Should've nicked one but they also had an effort cleared off the line by our defender. So not many chances between the sides, HT 0-0.

Second half we were slow to get started and once again lady luck was not on our side (must of really cheesed her off, not seen her for ages :( ). Praze scored, Scotty had it covered but it took a deflection, next one was a wind assisted corner which some how went in, then the ref gave them a pen which never was :glare: very nice off him!! All that in about 10 minutes, our heads then dropped and Praze played some good football and scored some more  . We got our heads up despite the score and went at in the mud pool, Matt came on for the last 15 and scored, he got hold of a loose ball and hit it sweet with his left peg from 25/30 yards :clapper: .

Another good game despite score, pitch and the ref not liking us  ? Not sure what the problem was but he seemed to be there extra man at times which they didn't need. All top blokes those Praze boys, so well done to them and all the best for the season.

Rosudgeon 2 Perrenporth 1

A very good battle in terrible weather............Ideal.

Rosudgeon started well,Stroking the ball around with confidence and rising to the fight against a good side. There was always the feeling that this was going to be a tight game and that was what we got,Rosudgeon deservedly took the lead with a fine finish from jozzie for his 10th goal of the season,After some great work from Glenn Rowe on the right. There were chances at both ends with Ozzie in goal making a couple of cracking 1 on 1 saves,Perron got there equaliser with good football and good finish.

H/T 1-1.

The weather got worse as the 2nd half got going,And the tackles started flying-in from both sides and the chances kept coming likewise.Jake got the 2nd of the game with another good move converted with his usual class  .

Perron never gave in and deserve alot of credit for a great battle. In all fairness i never felt we were going to lose today and always felt we could have stepped up a gear if needed. One sour point was how on earth we did'nt get a penalty when Jake was sliced down in the box and ref on the halfway line seemed confused at what was going on :glare: .

But on brighter a note we had a few players out today and everybody who stepped in done so with ease and gave me a headache for the next game

A great performance from all the lads who seem to be getting stronger each week,They work so hard for each-other they deserve everything they get,They really earn it :yahoo:

Man of the Match: Jake Andrews superb all round performance :clapper:

Arnie 'Adams was a close second 'Does he ever age???????'

Donkey of the day:Skipper John will be shaking behind the sofa on this one......................But i've got to give to Matt Johns he's got so much more in his locker but seems to be struggling with form at the mo.I have no doubt he'll be back firing soon,You can't keep a good player down for long ;) .

Attendance:3 men,2 dogs and 1 bewildered cow in the next field( HE COULD'NT GET A TICKET!!!!!!!!!!)

No arguements 1-6 flattered Praze a bit on the day - we were not at are best but definately the better side. However, how can you say the ref favoured Praze? Our striker got booked for a nudge after being chopped down by your fullback. What decisions went in Praze's favour. I have never seen a more blatent penalty. Our winger got a shot away which missed and was clattered ages after the ball had gone???

And by the way, your striker shot was on the edge of the 6 yard box? Where did you get 25/30 yards???

We enjoyed the game, all played in good spirit but don't agree with your match summary.

Not sure how Perran didn't get a penalty when your goalie and defender took the Perran striker out when he was through on goal taking each other out in the process!!

Just heard about a report about our game against four Lanes that we were lucky....lucky my aZZ.....our keeper didnt make a save in the 2nd half & you were lucky we didnt score 6 or 7...but your keeper had a great game....& fair play to him....Four Lanes had 2 chances from what I can remember....Nicky Adams had a shot tipped over the bar in the 1st half & Brett Adams finished well when put through.....other than that a comfortable win I thought.
