Guest Peppermint
Yes we have won and that is great but it might seem churlish but the selectors now have to be ruthless and get rid of Collingwood, Bell and Cook because the middle order is a joke without Petiersen. Get Rashid in now and at least Trott looks to have the temperment for test cricket.
Guest mariner
Cricket is so dull, but at least England is good at something
Soccer Follower
England were slightly the better of two average teams.
Guest Sport Lover
Collingwood and cook have played some fantastic gritty innings and should stay in the side. You cant make wholseale changes in cricket you have to evolve a team. So goodbye freddie and thank you, in with Stuart Broad. An injured KP hasnt done very well lately so he has to prove himself again. Leave Trott in and then decide between Bell and Bopara. Maybe give Rashid a few games. Guest Jim
An injured KP hasnt done very well lately so he has to prove himself again. KP is the one England player who is an automatic pick! For a player who is out of form, an average over the past 12 months of 47.31 isn't too bad really is it? Compare that to Ian Bell's average of 22.10 for the same period. He's had enough chances and a career average of 39.79 for a player batting at 3 isn't really good enough is it?
Guest Sport Lover
KP is a good player no doubt about that, but he has a very big ego and is a bit of a trouble maker maybe causing trouble in the dressing room. England won the ashes basically without him. Give me a team willing to play for the badge than play for themselves with slightly less talent anyday
Guest
That was a rather strange remark about KP. I trust you have the facts because its not what I am hearing. KP is a winner and is a huge icon for England. I'm afraid its the press who stir up these silly stories because they have nothing else to say on a bad news day. KP is very much a team player at least he did one good thing in getting rid of the coach. Flower is a different kettle of fish as he also is a winner and works well with players. Things could actually be looking up for England. What the series did show was that when Australia were on top they scored lots of runs but when it came to gritty innings England did not have the century makers but made average scores which was good enough to beat the Ausies. The selectors have a lot of tough decisions to make and Bell is one of them. Cook is going through a bad spell and will come out of it. We shall see.
