It wont last for spurs and they and the fans know that, so no harm with them milking it, but what gets me is the jealous GOONS and the way they think they are gonna win the league, they are soooooo funny. WAN***S

Mariner ,you got it spot on.All Spurs fans know it wont last.

So as you say,why not enjoy it.

As for the goons,we have this every season from them, always going to win things and end up with f--- all.

Beating a s--- Everton side, who lost to Burnley and beating relegated Portsmouth are great credentials

for success.

Burnley beat the current champions did they not? I think teams shouldn't take the mighty burnley lightly afterall last year they beat Chelsea, Arsholes and Spurs. 6 pts from 3 games, I'm sure they would of taken that before the seasson started.

Although I consider Arsenal to be my second team Im not a real fan as such so dont have the hatred of Tottenham that the bonafide gooners have. What I do have though is a lot of time for Harry Redknapp and for that reason Im quite enjoying seeing him do well at Spurs.

As a United fan i could'nt give a f**k about Spurs or Arsenal,But the facts are there both playing great football to watch,And i think Spurs fans should be allowed to enjoy there moment. :clapper::clapper:

It is early but it would be nice to mix the top 4 up abit,It would be good for the league.

Normal service has been resumed with the correct team now on top.

Very sorry to hear about Modric's broken leg, guess that concludes the Modric/Carrick argument for a while.

Spurs next 2 games are Man U & Chelsea, I believe, so it's crunch time at WHL.

Early days mate! Good start and enjoy it but do not think you will be top at end of season. Liverpool were top for most of last season but we never won...

My beloved UTD have done the title contenders (spurs) a favour the useless GOONS can not beat a poor UTD side on the day, they are SH1T SH1T SH1T :thumbsup::lol:

And Anita you are almost right about the thesaurus/dinosaur post, i do know that midfield is a dinosaur

To KOPIDOL8, 3 points now is the same as 3 points in Mar/Apr/May (please tell SKY SPORTS). Early days, yes agreed, and Chelsea haven't played anyone good but you can't do better than get 3 points each game. Dropping points to "lesser sides" like Burnley, Tott, AV is not desirable but it does happen to all sides. Man C win again, no goals conceded but only 4 scored in 3 games. Not title material yet but still 48 hours of the window left. Not this season, methinks.

Enjoy it while it lasts, Portsmouth Hotspur can only last until Bournemouth get decent financial backing or 'arry decides to retire back to Sandbanks, then Deane Court will be the place to be.

Davin James will be next to go in January, and possibly Belhadj then the exodus will be complete!

Scooby, what do you think of Kranjcar,he has never really impressed me that much.?

I think it may have been forced on Arry a bit with the injury to Modric,I suppose for a couple of million,it

aint a bad deal.

Word is Arry wanted James, but Levy wouldnt pay for a 39 year old goalie.

I will have a look at Kranjcar in the England game.

Krancjar is like most those who have left; class! he does have a tendency sometimes to drift out of games when the going is tough, Not sure where 'arry prefers to play him but always seemed to perform best just off the front two.

Seems like we are just preparing for the Championship, we have had our little adventure and it would be amazing f we could manage 17th or above! Paul Hart has been criticised for being negative, when he really should be praised a certain amount for being realisitic and buying battlers!

Spurs have as much chance of finishing in the top four as Man City this season!

My only consolation is that our nearest rivals could still be two divisions below us even if we do end up in the Championship, and possibly a division below the cherries!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I ,for one am not afraid to come on here after a defeat.

There are other armchair supporters from the so called other North London club, that seem to have disappeared.

I was at the game yesterday, and although Spurs were always in the game, they were not quite good enough.

Even after Scholes was sent off Spurs could still not dominate the game.

The Referee ,Andre Mariner was poor for both sides, and ruined the game on several occasions.

We have had our little time at the top,and I always said that yesterday and next week against Chelsea will

see where we are at,

Top 4; We have an outside chance, but Chelsea and United are certs,Liverpool, should be.?

Man City, why not.The goons have problems.

Honestly,I think top 6 for Spurs and remain above the goons,is the real target.

It was great while it lasted.

But now Im in the real world.

:(:(:( :(

Well done Somersetspur - I thought it was a good game and provided some good football and I agree that the referee was pooor for both sides.

Do you agree with Fergies rant about how Scholes should not have been sent off and how it was Huddlestone who fouled him, and not the other way round?. My opinion of THAT incident is that it was a foul by Scholes, it was worthy of a booking and therefore, in that particular instance, was the correct decision.

Quality ALWAYS counts and that's the difference between the 2 teams yesterday. Man Utd simply have more of it than we do. Then again, they have more of it than most teams in world football, so I for one am not too disheartened by yesterdays result.

To be fair, I think that any REALISTIC Spurs supporter took a look at the fixtures at the start of the season and thought to themselves, Liverpool, Hull, West Ham, Birmingham, Man Utd, Chelsea in the first 6 games. Not the easiest of starts and maximum points MUST be gained against Hull and Birmingham if we are not to be languishing at the wrong end of the table again at the start of a season and hopefully get a couple of bonus points against West Ham away and Liverpool at home.

We have had a better start than any of us could have ever imagined and have got ourselves in a position where if, as all pundits expect, we are to get nothing against Utd and Chelsea, we'll still be well and truly in the chasing pack. We Spurs supporters are very realistic about where we think our team can finish and what it can achieve at the current stage of development. We have no stupid ideas about winning anything out of our reach (Gooners STILL believe they can win the league  ), we are happy with our lot at the moment and I hope we continue in the way that we are doing.

I've no doubt whatsoever that a few Gooners will respond to what I said about their deluded supporters still thinking they can win the league, that's fair enough. I've no doubt that they'll say "lets see who finishes highest at the end of the season and can celebrate finishing 4th, but not actually win anything AGAIN".. Fair play to you all. Your ground is bigger than ours (but not even half as noisy), you've won more league titles than we have (European? ;) ) BUT you have to remember that you're EXPECTED to finish above us, we accept you'll probably finish above us BUT lets be realistic here. Since the food poisoning incident on the last day of the season denied us a place in the Champions League, have you ever felt so threatened by your inferior North London Landlords?. (You moved into our manor, remember that).. We ARE on the up, you quite simply AREN'T..

Back to topic, glad Man Utd have got themselves back on track after a lackluster start to the season and I hope they go on to prove they are once again the best team in the country.
