gashead1980 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Was the best player on the pitch today and he is only 17. Does anyone think he has a chance of making the England squad for the World cup next year? if he plays like he did today I think he will and he is left footed which is what we need.
somersetspur Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 You should really stop that Sunday Lunchtime drinking ,mate. No chance.I got more chance of making it. :SM_carton:
midfield Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 You should stick to things you know about - i.e. climbing poles - and leave the intelligent football commentary to us. :SM_carton:
cornishatheart Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Ok, There is no doubt he has got potential.. But he needs to be playing week in week out before he will even be considered!!! Fabio aint like Sven!!! NO chance of him on that plane, one for the future though. :c:
somersetspur Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Thank you Cornishatheart. Somebody else with a bit of sense. :c:
boosh12 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I dont think he has the experience to be playing in the world cup finals. Not at all. He wasnt even in the under 21's team! I think its important not to rush him in to things. Im sure he will be involved with the first team squad more this season. Nobody can deny that this boy has a lot of potential!
gashead1980 Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 I didnt mean if the World Cup was now! there is still a year to go and if he plays like he did today he will be playing week in week out and should therefore be selected. How old were Rooney and Owen when they made there debuts? if your good enough your old enough!! Is somerset spurs jelous that he is not in your squad!
GuvDRed Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 The boy looked the real deal today,And he certainly has a huge future with proper guidance,Which he will get from Wenger,The man's a genius at unearthing talent. He'd have to play some amount of game's this season,But there's always a surprise in that final 22 that board's that plane. However like previously stated he is only 17,And there will be many more World cup's for this boy
boosh12 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 true, i hope to see him more involved in the squad this season. And the amount of injurys we seem to get in a season he could well start a few games. Up the Gunners!
A One And A Six Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 He's got awesome potential, definately one for the future for Arsenal and England hopefully. Id still rather see either Stevie G, Ashley Young or Joe Cole playing wide left for England for now though! Having said that if i were Mr Capello id certainly go for Wilshire ahead of Downing!!! :D
midfield Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Certainly Wilshere ahead of Downing any day. I doubt Cole will even make the squad. Far too injury prone.
Cornwall_Hammer Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 If Jack Wilshere makes the England squad and Scott Parker doesnt then we have problems :SM_carton:
midfield Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 I don't think Scott Parker will be on the plane, somehow.
GuvDRed Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Scott Parker will be on 'A PLANE' but only to go on holiday i'm afraid,Theres just to much quality ahead of him in the midfield.
gashead1980 Posted August 12, 2009 Author Report Posted August 12, 2009 England coach Fabio Capello has hinted that Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere could be promoted to the England senior squad for the 2010 World Cup finals. "He plays without fear, with confidence," said the Italian. "And the other players passed the ball always to him. This is not normal to be so young and so good." Still think he has no chance? like I said before a lot depends on this year.
