cockerkneeboy
Bobby Robson has passed away at the age of 76 after a battle against lung cancer. He took England to the semi-finals of the World Cup as well as winning trophies with Ipswich Town, PSV, Porto and Barcelona, but his proudest moments came as manager of his beloved Newcastle United. RIP Uncle Bobby A very sad day for English football and he will be missed, A legend in his own right and for me he was the perfect Gentleman all through his long and distinguished career R.I.P Sir Bobby

Guest Tremough Defender
A True Gent indeed. I can't imagine there will be many people who will disagree with the sentiments here. He will be sadly missed and I hope it puts things in perspective for some people. Newcastle Football Club springs to mind. Guest Clancy Von-Heffenburger
One of the best!!! a true gentlemen that had utmost respect for his counterparts in the game- never slagged anyone off e.g. nowadays with these spanish managers that come out with a list in a press conference trying to play mind games!! but most of all loved the game itself for what it is and appreciated how lucky he was to have the opportunities he had in life!!! also had the best team since 66' in italia 90- what a legendary group of players there. the 1st world cup i can remember and will never forget! thanks for the memories and r.i.p.!!! Guest Spenny
He made my ipswich boys a real force among the big spenders in the late 70's early 80's winning the fa cup and uefa cup. He was the last person to take a family club from nowhere with not much money to contenders which will probably never happen again. RIP Sir Bobby from all truely thankfull tractor boys!! Whistleblower
I think the great man deserves a minutes applause rather than silence. A truly great ambassador for English football, you only have to hear the respect that Shearer and Lineker had for him to realise how high he was regarded. R.I.P. A One And A Six
Not only a top manager with Ipswich, Newcastle and England but one of a few British managers in modern football to win trophys abroad with some of Europes biggest clubs (PSV, Barcelona, Sporting Lisbon and Porto). Also a England international as a player, a fact often overshadowed by his succesful managerial career. Very brave man to fight his illness as long as he did and was always a character during intervievs and conferences - always made me smile when during his time at Newcastle, he would get names hopelessly wrong! Top football man, will be missed by all.
