OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM FAL ATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fact, in the final we included a player that has been away training for most of the season. He has played only a handful of games this year unfortunately he played in a couple of the early rounds of the junior cup against Pendeen and Fal Town and we as a club counted these in his five games.

Fal/Hel league rules states that a player must play Five league games to be eligible for a final. Therefore as a club we have fallen foul of this rule and have no intention whatsoever of making an appeal.

The Falmouth/Helston league council will make a decision which Falmouth Ath will accept fully.

The players name was on Falmouth Ath teamsheet and Pendeen afc did not make a complaint about this player. Also Falmouth Ath were given every oppurtunity by the league, to have their squad members checked prior to the match, this offer was not taken up as, we thought all players were eligible.

Our sincere appologies to both the Falmouth/Helston league and Pendeen Football Club

The player was Martin Galloway.

Martin has played for Fal Ath for several seasons.

But this year Martin joined the Fire Brigade and has been completing his training.

It seems an honest mistake has been made and Fal Ath have admitted it.

Including other cup games Martin had played more than 5 games for the Lockhart Cup.

But these did not count and it is an error by the club, certainly not the player.

Guest Burnley

Well Trispinho,

Even we had have put out a statement after that Troon game .............how many outsiders will have taken it seriously and looked at it from our point of view???????

Not many...........is the answer to that question, and all that is dead and buried whether people like it or not.

I think the club should be credited for coming out straight away a statement.

If we hadn't have made a statement, people would moan

If we do, then people still moan

I think that people generally want to see Athletic fail and get into trouble for their own kicks.

Its rather sad, although i know that not everyone is like that, thankfully
