midfield
Well, Manure may have secured the title with this point but we played them off the park with the quality of our football. As the commentator said we "played all the football" - now all we have to do is score some goals! To me, Manure were pretty dull and didn't create much at all. They were more than content to sit it out for the point they needed. What we need is a top-quality central defender and, perhaps, someone in the middle of the park in the Vieira mould. Who fits the bill? I haven't a clue! Roll on next season!
Guest Man on the Post
As the commentator said we "played all the football" Unfortunately you cannot do it when it matters, like the Champions League semi-final! I agree you need a central defender, central midfielder and a proper centre forward. The police have asked the Liverpool FC management, players and supporters to stop crying as the River Mersey is in danger of flooding!
Football person
well done arsenal for being the better team in a game where utd needed a point, gives arsenal something to hold onto next year! just like liverpool will be able to say they did the double over us! CHELSEA WILL BE THE ONLY THREAT TO UTD NEXT YEAR.
Guest Jezza
Congratulations to Sir Alex and the English/European and World Champions Manchester United on securing another Championship, boring game but point needed so point gained, could have played another 90mins and Arsenal wouldn't have scored so job done. Nice goal from Man U shame the linesman couldn't keep up.... I dissagree that Chelsea will be the threat next year, I think Arsenal have the making of a superb team and if they get a defence over summer and then stop trying to score the perfect goal every game I think they will be the major challengers next year. Chelsea with a new manager will go through a period of buying several players they don't need and the ones they have got probably will refuse to play for the new manager and have a strop. Liverpool have played their best season since the premiership began and have still come up short, they will never recover and next year they will be back to fourth at best hanging onto that ridiculous fourth placed Champions League spot. special mentions this year to Everton who I have seen a few times this season, David Moyes probably my Manager of the Year continuing to work miracles with no budget. And hats off to Spurs and Harry Redknapp, thats a heck of a jump from 2 points, he said he was aiming for European Football and a lot of people laughed, the last laugh could still be with Harry if results go their way next week. so see you all next season as we go for number 19 and European title number 5........? midfield
A few facts: Shots on target: Manure 0, Arsenal 4 Possession : Manure 39%, Arsenal 61% Passes completed; Manure 73%, Arsnal 83% (I think...) Just proves we're better! :D
Football person
Next year Liverpool will go backwards, due to Benitez. Arsenal need too many with not enough too spend, but will wenger spend? Chelsea will spend, will not screw up as much. 1 Utd 2 Chelsea 3 Villa 4 Arsenal Opinions, opinions.!
Jamo
Midfield i dont think Kempy was havin a dig at Arsenal, more like at the newbie Football Follower sayin its only Chelsea being a threat to Utd next season! i watched the game today and yes Arsenal did dominate but hate to say it Man Utd did what they set out to do, get the point for another championship. which wsnt pleasent for me bein a Liverpool fan lol, but well done to Utd, top quality squad and done the job again But Football Follower, come on, are u bein serious or just a Man Utd fan comin on today as a newbie spouting off?! Slating Benitez and Liverpool sayin he will take us backwards? mm think being its virtually gone to the last game this season shows he is taking us forwards, lets not forget, Benitez is now, where Fergie was years ago, Fergie and Utd not winning for god knows how many years? Fergie having to build a whole squad which took time and in the end once built only needs an odd player each season to keep it sustainable as the best squad, as the foundations have been in place now for years, no need for any rebuilding, just fine tuning So Benitez has had to build a Liverpool squad from scratch , not take over an already assembled title winning squad which needs the odd player to add to, just like Fergie had to all those years ago and over the last 3 to 4yrs (not 10) has been doing that, it takes time, but this year he is nearly there, so now with only a few more additions in the summer may well have that squad that may rival Man Utd, which took Fergie years to build, so he is in a totally different position to what Fergie is now! As for Arsenal, crackin young squad, yes they need prob 3 more experienced names through the spine of the team to really be at the top, i think they may well spend in the summer to do that, so there is another top team that will be right in the mix Chelsea of course will spend and add to the quality they already have, but to say they will be the only threat, rubbish! Football person
sorry jammo, but dont hid behind excuses. how long has benitez got to build a new squad, 1st thing i would do if I got a managers job in the prem is say this is going to take 5 years to build (5 year contract please!!!), all managers do to hide behind lack of trophies. more excuses 1. 'weve closed the gap' 2. we dont have the money that man utd do 3. utd run the referee's association 4. were still building 5. if we'd have had gerrard and torres more answers 1. so what, still ANOTHER trophy less season 2. Man Utd spent around 50 million last summer and january, how much money did they win for winning the champions league, premiership last year? for me thats re investment. 3. blah blah blah 4. see opening paragraph 5. thats benitez fault, squad game, robbie keane.....you get what you deserve for building a title winning squad around 2 players. Learn Liverpool will not be in the top 2 next year, Man utd & chelsea will occupy those slots. Do i not like Liverpool? No, due to excuses... Guest Peppermint
Midfield - the Premier League is won by the most consistent team over the WHOLE SEASON. One game does make a season and has someone else pointed out United needed a point and they got it - all the facts trotted out by you means absolutely nothing the Trophy is at Old Trafford and not The Emirates. Another point I notice on teletext that Benitez is bemoaning the fact that United only won the title because of money - he has had money to spend as well but not always wisely - how ungracious of a so called top manager. I think i'll stick with playing semi-entertaining football grinding out result when required and being champions of everything...... roll on August and we start all over again, be intersting to see the transfer market spark into life again and see if there is anyone that the big clubs can buy without 'Money-Bags' Man City adding £10m or so to the best bid and swallowing up the signature, still reckon Robinho was only told Manchester had come in for him at the last minute and then was gutted to find Mark Hughes waiting for him at the airport

Guest Peppermint
I won't stoop to your level Midfield and will give Arsenal their correct name - perhaps you could actually call Manchester United by their correct title! No perhaps not - if you watched a number of games all season then I am sure any fair minded football follower would say that all clubs have spells and matches when they played great entertaining football - it is so easy to make sweeping statements. Rod Beer - the green eyed jealous monster seems to be showing through your post. What has happened to Shanethebuck - I thought he would be posting his congratulations to United on here - oh no another pink pig as flown by! Mangle
A point away at Old Trafford. Good result, and played well too. That's about it though. Another crap (frustrating) season to be an Arsenal supporter. Just like Liverpool, and Aston Villa, and Spurs, and everyone else that hasn't won anything. Could also be a trophy-less one for Chelsea. Man U are the best team in English football, nobody can seriously argue that. The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are best equipped to challenge them, depending on who they can bring in for next season. Also, Spurs, Villa and Everton are thankfully closing the gap too, and after a season that looked almost exciting there for a couple of months, we could have another good one to look forward to next year. Guest
Man U did what they had to do and quite honestly could have won. Someone said that the league is won over all 38 matches. Arsenal for some reason cannot continue to hide behind the 'youngsters' will eventually succeed way of thinking. In fairnes Liverpool under any other manager would not have let the league go. And that is purely down to their whinging manager. It is no use him saying well we beat Man U and Chelsea and so on, what he cannot see is that if he can only raise his team to beat these two then why on earth can he not do it for all those games Liverpool drew. He does not even have the decency to congratulate Ferguson for winning the title. The man has no class and is quite frankly a disgrace to his profession. Get rid and Liverpool might win the league. Helston Keeps
if i remember rightly united scored a pretty nice 3rd goal with quick passing against arsenal in the champions league at the emirates so as for not playing football andbieng boring i think you may be a tad wrong and end of the day id take 1-0 every single game of the season if it meant winning the title every year!
