no sure if we (helston) have still got to play chacewater as it was called off last week, our 1st team didnt have enough players therefore took some of ours which left us unable to play, someone told me that because it was the 1st team that called our game off the game may still need to be played, anyone know the ruling?

FHFL 1 Unofficial Table 12/11/09

Table updated with all results/points awarded.

If you look underneath the table you will see that 9 games were decided by points deductions, teams not raising sides. Though having no effect on the top it has had a massive effect on the bottom of the league.

I'm not that worried as it has kept us (Albion) up, but doesnt look good does it.

At Holmans we have had to cancel 1 game in the FHFL and 3 in the Mining due to the lack of players. It's not a great feeling to have to ring up the opposition and explain that we would not be coming and to that I would like to apologise to the 4 teams involved.

On the note of preventing it happening particulary at the end of the season when teams cancel because they are safe from relegation or have nothing to play for the only way of slightly deterring it would be not only to award the 3 points to the opposing side who have been inconvenienced but to deduct 6 to 9 points from the offending side!!!

Of course the other option is to ban all cricket until the end of May so players remain available for football:SM_carton: !!!!!!!!! NO CHANCE

its a hard thing to sort out .its never easy to field a team near end of season when nothing to play for .but what can be done?even if you deduct 9 points if your mid table this wont effect them.only thing you can do is fine the club but by doing this could put more clubs in trouble .maybe have less teams at clubs that struggle to raise a team so instead of 4 teams only have 3 so less players to find ?

or maybe there should be less football matches bearing in mind each cricket team will only now play about 15games with cancelations etc...then season over. Im a foot baller but too many games are played and the season far too long these days. Games at end of season are a lottery with bigger clubs dropping players down, smaller clubs having players unavailable etc etc.. footy is basically 10months of the year now without including friendlies....as for cricket starting at the end of may, u were i assume joking but actually the season doesnt start properly till nearly then as mlost footballers who i play cricket with over the years tend to finish the footy season when it finishes not when cricket starts. As for teams not fulfilling fixtures, yes dock them points, why not. well done for only cancelling 4 games all season by the way, good going that in 2 seperate leagues
