Guest Mouth
Newlyn NA 7 - 3 Illogan A scrappy game from Newlyn's point of view, but an all important 3 points. Illogan started better, with Newlyn nursing the cup hangover and took a 0-1 lead. Tim Neaum instantly replied for the Crabs with a great finish from a tight angle. Leo Gwynn made it 2-1 with a header at the far post, before he grabbed his second - finishing off a great team move with a superb finish. Half time. 3-1. Newlyn started better in the second half, and Adam Strowger finished brilliantly from a Callum Mitchell through ball. Illogan pulled one back with a header, before Gwynn grabbed his hat-trick. Illogan then made it 5-3 with a great finish from their number 10. The Crabs looked nervy, before Callum Mitchell tucked away a penalty, and then volleyed home Gwynn's cross in the final minutes. Not the best of matches, but 3 points all the same. Well done to Illogan, who gave it their all for their final game.

Damo No 2
Mining League Div. 3 Trevenson Utd Res. 3 .v. Marazion Blues 1 Happy to finish our season on a high with a win and a decent performance. After last weeks tanking we wanted to make up for it and started the game well with some solid defending and good football. Marazion however didn't just come to make up the numbers as they belied there league position by knocking the ball around nicely and trying to feed there lively, young front line. Stu Rule gave us the lead mid way through 1st half finishing into the far corner after good work from Shaun Wilkins, Ian Packenas and Ashley Smeeth. Marazion equalised before half time when there striker climbed higher than Robbie Bailey to head home after a succession of corners. The first 15mins of the second half was all Marazion as we struggled to keep a high line and to pick up an extra man they had pushed on into midfield. We weathered the storm with Nathan Hick solid in goal and the help of a few offside decisions. Shaun Wilkins gave us the lead again when he scored direct from a corner and it was another corner that saw us score our 3rd with Ian Packenas heading home. As I said, glad to finish our season on a high and hopefully take this momentum into the next campaign. All the best for the close season to all teams in Mining 3 from us at Trevenson Utd.
