  1. I don't believe the League has one planned. If we (Helston) manage to win the CWFL West then we would welcome an official match against Saltash Utd (East Champions) to decide the Cornish Champions so to speak. It would be a cracking game if the FA Cup tie we played in September (Helston 5 - 4 Saltash Utd) is anything to go by.

  7. Postponed to 2:40pm Saturday 17th April. An understandable scheduling change from the BBC in light of yesterday’s sad news.
  8. Cornwall FA Statement: After much deliberation and consultation a decision has been taken to cancel all 2020-21 County adult cup competitions. The youth competitions will continue. It is understood that this decision may not be universally welcomed but it has been taken with great care and consideration for everyone involved, players, club volunteers, match officials and spectators too. Every club remaining in each of the competitions was consulted. The integrity and viability of each of the cups was considered in detail as were the logistics and reliance on host clubs and their voluntee
  9. I have been invited onto Ross Ellis show this weekend to discuss Helston and Women’s Football in general. Another good opportunity to showcase the game and I would like to express my gratitude to @Dave Deacon for initially inviting me on the Podcast and giving us that initial exposure that allows Helston Women’s team and Women’s Football in Cornwall in general to get a little more coverage. 11. I’m not worried about the rumour mill. But I thought I’d share my views on why players are joining us; I believe it is because we offer: The best on and off the pitch experience for women’s football in the area. - Competitive training that improves the individual’s - Support of the club chairman and committee (not something all women’s teams benefit from) - a superb camaraderie - good facilities - superb social media coverage - coverage in local press - potential for silverware - FA Cup football but above all a simple mantra:
  12. 😂😂 Definitely not. It’s all about those classic qualities in life; ambition and happiness.

  16. 11 of the 14 clubs across the two divisions of CWFL have committed to return to action the league have announced this evening. We now await the fixtures for those teams wishing to continue. All matches will be played in accordance with FA Guidance. The first matches are expected to start on the 11th or 18th April.
  17. Good news for the profile of the Women's Game. Much needed as larger exposure will ensure greater investment in the game and increase the earning potential of clubs, players et al. The BBC have agreed a 3 year deal which will see them broadcast 22 matches a season. SKY will broadcast a further 44 in an agreement which will run until summer 2024. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56459754
  18. Agree. Wise given the associated risk. Many events will be better served waiting for 2022.
  19. Yes an Impressive stat that, 5 hat tricks in one game!
  20. Yes not too shabby 😂 lucky that we have the Top2. If the season can be completed I could see us having Two x Hundred+ Goal Forwards to start next season. ⚽️⚽️ No pressure on Katy B-T there.... 12 more goals before summer...... 😉

  23. In the CWFL there are currently 7 teams in the East and 7 in the West Divisions. in addition to this St Austell, Callington & St Agnes have teams in the SWRFL. Bude play in the Devon league. So currently 18 adult female clubs in Cornwall with 20 sides (Callington & St Agnes have 2 teams). It is Helstons intention to take promotion to SWRFL next season and also have a Development team in the CWFL. I am sure we will see some female comments and members once the word spreads of the forums presence.
  24. Yes there were results on full time and match reports on our Facebook page (Helston) and in the Packet Newspapers. This inspired me to ask @Dave Deacon for a dedicated women’s forum then I can post the CWFL results and all things related in there and hopefully other teams will post match reports also.
