  1. The combo isn’t senior football though, it’s recreational in the same way the trelawny league is so if they want to play senior they need to step up to St Pirans. this is why the combo is confusing people as it’s not a senior league! They get to play in the Senior cup as they cut a deal with the CCFA when the leagues were restructured by the FA. Last season for it?
  2. What age are the majority of the people who are making posts on this group and are you still playing? Im interested to know as I still (try to) play, ref and think some sort of football should be starting for the mental health of our players and to keep them interested. Another 5 months (til July) before playing would have a major effect I believe in loosing players and the mental well-being. The Fa has extended the playing season to the end of June btw if you hadn’t seen it. I don’t want an argument on your beliefs as I’ve read them, I’m just interested in the dynamics of people posting on this particular thread. cheers and gone!
  3. Fully agree. Football can be played in tier 3, training is allowed in tier 3. Only 377 people under the age of 60 have died from Covid. (No underlying conditions) 655 people under the age of 60 have died from falling down stairs. A mental statistic from this year. The economy, mental well-being of the country are ruined for this, Plandemic2020
  4. Culdrose v Wendron Thirds off is off due to waterlogged pitch Just had to happen the first Sat we are allowed to play! 😏
  5. Wendron 3rds 2 - 1 Culdrose Culdrose were 1-0 up at half time with the wind, although the did have the ball in the back of the net 4 times and many other times they were through on goal before the flag ultimately came up, the linesman being Wendrons MOTM in the first half! Early into the second half Wendron scored 2 quickfire goals using the wind well and although the Culdrose lads created numerous shooting opportunities they couldn't get another goal with the home keeper making some great saves. Sensibly reffed by Mr Rose.
  6. Lizard 3-4 Culdrose. Typical Cornish and especially lizard-like weather was present throughout, especially the last ten of the first half where seeing the ball through the rain/hail was a bonus! First half ended 2-2, Culdrose with the hefty wind behind them, Culdrose taking the lead with a great finish by the 🐈, running 50 years to get onto the end of a through ball after some great work down the right. A couple of defensive mistakes meant they were 2-1 down after 2 quick fire goals until a great half volley by Shilvock equalised on half time for the visitors. Second half and Culdrose were far the better side throughout, Although falling behind when the Lizard striker ran through and slotted home (at least 3 yards off , agreed by the home bench!) and although the away linesman raised his flag it was duly ignored by the referee. This brought out the battle fever in the Culdrose boys and they equalised after a great overlapping down the right by the sprightly 38 YO Centre midfielder delivering the ball of the game, a pinpoint far post cross for a diving header. the winner was scored after a great through ball and the striker rounded the keeper and slotted home for the win.
  7. Culdrose 0-4 (I think) Pendeen The less said the better about the home sides performance. 0-0 halftime In a pretty even game, but a blatant penalty and Shocking defending In the second half made it easy for the visitors.
  8. Culdrose found themselves 3-0 down at half time, Having given the ball away Far too cheaply and too making too many errors allowing the opposition to score some easy goals. First was a dipping shot that should have been saved, can’t remember the second and the third was a free kick fumbled by the keeper allowing 3 x attackers to run in on unchallenged and slot home. Better second half performance from the hosts playing the better football and creating chances, Key one being great movement by the striker, only to be saved by the keeper with a great point blank save with his grid! Rosudgeon scored a 4th with 2 mins left to play after stealing the ball all too easily from the young Culdrose defender. Most of the away boys stayed for a beer which was good to see, attendance roughly 40 with a decent split of supporters.
  9. St Agnes took the lead mid way through the first half after the midfield runner wasn’t tracked and had an easy finish from a throw in. Culdrose had the majority of the ball but struggled in the final third throughout the game. The equaliser was via a well taken 30 yard free kick from Joe Paterson, but that was the only goal they managed surprisingly after all the chances and possession. St Agnes seemed happy with the point and Culdrose come away frustrated. Very well reffed by Charlie Philpott, controlled the game brilliantly and explaining his decisions.
  10. Culdrose scorers Ricky Shilvock and Cameron Quirke. Helston used the pitch to their advantage from the start, stretching the young Culdrose full backs from the off. A stone wall pen in the first half was converted (no card) before scoring another one before 1/2 time after the left back (I think) stroked the ball home at the far post without challenge from the visitors. The home side scored a third mid way through the second half and looked to be out of sight when a breakaway from Culdrose saw the winger being brought down for (another) stonewall penalty, this one seeing a yellow for the defender which was duly converted. A late second had Culdrose thinking they had a chance of taking it to extra time providing some pressure into injury time but the final whistle was blown dead on 45 mins with no stoppage time played for the many second half substitutions and injuries 🤷🏼‍♂️ But Helston go through as deserving winners on the night.
  11. Culdrose scorers; Charlie Cuss, Lucas Terceiro. Culdrose made hard work of the win but take the 3 points back to the Bill Pearce Sports pavilions. Went one nil down early on in the first half before getting a goal back with some good link up play from the midfield to our wide right and luckily it crept in. Could have went either way in the first half, Holland using the wind well. Into the second half, the game became stretched and both had chances. Culdrose score with 10 to go with a great finish into the bottom corner and managed to hold on with Holmans striker hitting the post after a great challenge by the backtracking defender doing enough in the last few mins. Ref did very well and talked through his decisions, utilising the captains as required. Hopefully the Home linesman’s arm isn’t too sore Tomorrow after being well used every time Culdrose we’re through on goal. 🤭🤣
  12. Culdrose did everything but score today; 3 off the post, plenty of shots and goal line scrambles but goals win games and the young left back managed it with the only shot on target for St Day in the second half, which was a great finish!
