  1. Constantine reserves 3 - 6 Storm FC Finally after 40+ games losing the streak is broken, after going 2 nil down I couldn't be prouder of the boys today showed real fight and deserved everything they got. Conner Clark x 3 Ethan Smith x 1 James Porter x Penalty Michal Wojtas x 1 Goonhavern at home next week, should be a good game
  2. Hi, we lost 1 - 2, but we were unlucky today and I don't think either of us would have complained if it finished 1 - 1, however, on to Buryan next week.....
  3. We have worked hard to build a squad of players over the last 2 seasons, who are committed and understand what we are hoping and trying to achieve, and we rarely turn up to a game with less than 15 players. We are building and developing every game and we know there is no quick fix, we certainly wouldn't ever take the easy way out and fold the club no matter how much of a headache running it can cause. The awful run we are on is now, if anything, only driving the players to try and break it and come away with the win (at some point), its almost gone beyond the point of being a negative feature. We have been guilty of showing teams too much respect in all honesty and thats something we need to work on, we were awful in the reverse fixture against Falmouth, so our aim is to make sure we play better than that, and come off the pitch proud of our performance regardless of the score. It should certainly be a different prospect in terms of the way it is played on grass rather than on a 4g pitch. The playing surface itself yesterday wasn't too bad compared to some, which was a surprise after the recent weather, but no you are correct there is at least an inkling of lines usually unlike yesterday.
  4. We (Storm) came away a bit disappointed tbh, I woke to the news that 2 of our players were ill, meaning I had to go in goal rather than manage properly, and also call upon some of of our previous players to bolster the squad for today's game, we did create a fair few chances today which is more than we have in recent games but were wasteful, so positives to be taken. Good bunch of lads over at Titans though and the game was played in good spirits, on to next week ⚽⚽
  5. Constantine reserves v storm FC abandoned after 60 mins due to the pitch being unplayable, I'd argue it wasn't playable at the start but replay it is
  6. Hi all, Long shot I know, but is there anyone who fancies reffing a game this afternoon at Penryn College?
  7. Good game today and much better performance from us after the disastrous midweek fixture despite todays result. I don't think anyone could have complained if we had gone in at half time slightly ahead, but some solid defending, the woodwork, and our apparent attempts at conversions stopped that. A poor first 10 in each half was our main downfall today. No grumbles here over the result though and the game was played in the right spirit, thanks go out to Franco Lovelock who came in and reffed the game really well. Thanks also to the Stithians lads for coming back to the pub, good luck for the season and we look forward to the reverse fixture.
  8. We're Storm FC, and whilst last season was rubbish in terms of results we have kept the squad for this year and added a few, the FB campaign at the start of last season was the instigator for all of it really.
  9. we're proof of that from last season dave. just needed that helping hand to introduce the club to more people that was all, now we have a solid squad and looking forward to the new season.
  10. They were watching us by half 1 too........
  11. We must be doing something right at storm as not 1 player has left us for them, despite constant attempts all last season in the build up to this one, perhaps reputations do make a difference after all 👍
  12. given a few of them were watching our friendly today, including the manager i doubt the location is the issue
  13. Hope someone actually passes this onto cormac then
  14. Our opponent has just pulled out, so we are looking for a team to play, home (Tuckingmill) or away this weekend. Let me know if you are free and fancy it. Cheers Tony
  15. Our opponent has just pulled out, we (Storm) could play you?
  16. I'll be surprised if cormac will let us use them due to insurances/liability and the fact they have been previously used with now banned chemicals..... Worth an ask though
  17. I think a squad of 20/21 committed players is plenty this year 😁😁
  18. We can't put a team into flexi and risk injuries, playing a Saturday and then a Monday just won't work.
  19. no i'm Tony, Storm Manager up the road in Tuckingmill and yet there's no reduction in the cost to hire.......................
  20. Hi All, Have just had a conversation with Cormac regarding some maintenance needed to the pitch we hire from Cornwall Council. During this conversation I was told that no line marking is being undertaken by them this year due to legislation around chemical use etc, and it will be down to the individual clubs to sort, whilst there isn't a reduction in cost of hire either. If this does turn out to be the case, i'm sure there are a lot of clubs who will be stuck as they don't own their own line marker, and they're not exactly small or simple to transport. nor are they cheap. I wonder if it would be worth clubs joining up together to purchase a 'joint' one which can be used as needed? although i guess a rota of some sort would be needed. just another hurdle for us small grassroots teams to overcome i guess.
  21. we (storm) could host you on the 17th? Tony
