  1. Sounds like a nice guy...didnt want to air out the fact that he was leaving hayle, to join truro, who at the time already had a manager in place!! I thought the rason he left hayle was because his players all decidd to walk to play for better sides & he couldnt attract anyone else in!? Poor gary, must feel abit let down by the club. Intersestig to see how many of his old players he tries to get back with him! In sayig that im sure both Helston & Mousehole will finish higher than truro 2nd team!!
  2. parkway bodmin launceston cullumpton bovey elmore liskeard
  3. There can only be one winner, only one team can come first...surely better to spend wisely than to spend big & win nothing!!! I can see Parkway & st.Austell going for top spot the rest just making up the placings, whoever spends big out of the rest are wasting time & some poor buggers money, cos i personally cant see any other teams getting close to Parkway or St Austell with the squads they are assembling. I can see the league being competitive...just not at the top!
  4. Think i know who you mean now...his antics are what you`d expect at a sunday league game (no disrespect to sunday football). The assistant manager/chauffer is from devon with afew contacts i read in a previous post, is that a clever ploy/back up plan to get him on board ready for when all the local lads move on so he can get afew from devon to step in as & when required..
  5. Good point that!?? Hearing whispers that he is losing alot from the first team already & afew turning down the opportunity to join the club. Cant see how he can bring money with him!! who is paul clarke, nothing official from the club as of yet?
  6. Good point above, i also thought of this, he is currently serving a drink driving ban so its going to cost him alot in taxis fairs!!
  7. This is why it is vital that the new man at the helm with the first team has a good record in being able to work with and develop the young players that are at the club, what is the point in nurturing young players, spending the time & money in coaching them in all weathers, & then letting them leave to the benefit of other clubs in the area whilst we spend a healthy playing budget on players that are no better than the guys originally at the club & with less spirit. On a previous topic Tommy Matthews name was mentioned, an ideal candidate with his record at developing players? Nemesis you bite to easily, you work so hard for the club, people are just trying to get a reaction from you, dont make it easy for them. Wish there were more around like you.
  8. No,i Heard he (carey) was sniffing at mount wise, please god i hope our commitee has the savy to see through him. Impossible for you all to be wrong!! think it would ruin any chance of a local culture again at the club. Just bring back Trevor Mewton for one last dance!!
  9. That might be Mr Mourinho, but i think any supporter, clubman or chairman would, could & can justify it if it means being succesful like Trevor has been in his career. By success i mean winning titles & cups. Newquay may not be in `that boat` but that is why its crucial dont make mistakes that other clubs have in regards to wasting money, because in the wrong hands ANY club in cornwall can & will fail. I dont know why people think there is so much money at the club though. It has been proved. Your honesty falfootie in your last post cannot be questioned & i hope you turn things around. As for saturday..well it was worth a try!
  10. Nice of our freinds/rivals from Reen Manor & a former player doing us a favour yesterday to keep Hayle in the relegtion scrap!
  11. I see what your saying but im sure the guys on the board are wise enough to that happening, what i will say is that there are no comparisons whatsoever between Trevor or `a la carey` as you put it! Point being Trevor has won over 13 League championships with four different clubs & god knows how many domestic cup competitions during his career, carey just spends lots of money & then walks away when it goes wrong at any point. Sorry Falfootie in my eyes that is not a comparison? On a lighter note any chance of you charming your manager into playing your fourth side when you visit newquay next weekend for the combo fixture, could really do with the points!! (only joshing!!)
  12. I would love for Trevor to take the helm, have seen him afew times this season at mount wise, he just has an air of authority about him and i agree that he would put the clubs best interests first. I know a couple of current players in both firsts & seconds & the general vibes they are giving are positive & that he would be welcomed with open arms. Especially by the Newquay contingent of the squad. Hoops & Phil did a fantastic job, but maybe a different emphasis & direction is what the club needs now this situation has arisen. Someone that can nurture the young players and develop them into first team material but also keep us competitive without spending hideous sums of money in the process Anyone that can do this or knows of anyone please contact Mr. Butterly!! With the amount of players that have represented the county youth from the club just shows we are not that far way.
  13. Dito to the above!! The amount of work that goes unrecognised is huge behind the scenes. Surely you see my point in my previous post, the direction & emphasis has to be on local based players instead of what we have had in the past seasons where we have been used by certain guys & had nothing back in return, apart from an empty bar by 6.30pm because everyone has to travel back to different ends of county. Trevor Mewton bring the good times back! A Newquay man that can be trusted to take the clubs interests first.
  14. Cant see Mr Carey here, Why on earth would the hard working guys on the commitee at mount wise give finance to a man that has caused financial disaters at every club he has been at!! Take alook at falmouth.. skint, or further back Porthleven they are still counting the cost of giving him the reigns now nearly 15 years on! There is a pattern that omergies with him spends lots of money..it goes wrong...then walks away. For me Trevor Mewtons local knowledge with Chris Morris experience would be a firm foundation to build on. One thing that can be said for Glynn & phil is that they respected their resources and were completley proffesional in everythig they did.
