WendronOfficial got a reaction from Jimmer06 in Looking for a friendly versus an East team
I find your response completely petty and unnecessary.
As you well know, my personal opinions regarded the EAST Cornwall League and Combination League (not those above) and  if you are that much of a fan of my posts or opinions you would know how much I was looking forward to a county wide St Piran’s League.
As I said before, my thoughts were due  to sustainability of clubs, including Sticker, at that level of football in the county given the history of clubs from East Cornwall transferring into Combination League football. Not a reflection on Sticker who - again as I’ve said previously - I’ve got a lot of time and respect for.
The reason for my request of a friendly versus an East team, preferably in St Piran’s or even above, was in order to get a fixture against a team of a similar standard of league as the one our reserves will be playing in (St Piran’s West).
I hope you got the response you wanted from your post.

PS ban the Junior and Senior Cup. Far too much travelling

So here, in a nutshell, is the whole problem. Step 7 HAD to happen in Cornwall as determined by the FA. ECPL and CCL could have run the step 7 league but didn't want to change. If they had, there would have been no St Pirans league and none of the recent upheaval. But - we've always done it like that, why should we change 🙄

Someone on here trying to deflect from the truth ... Funny you mention 'Dragons Den ' as that cash is probably funding the project .... If you get my drift !?
No problem with it, relax. Players talk, it's a small place Cornwall, big money on offer in West Cornwall this season

We have nothing to lose in applying. The very worst that can happen is we get relegated and end up in Trelawny Prem, where we would be any way. At least we can say we tried.

WendronOfficial reacted to Steve Carpenter in Cornwall FA St Piran League statement - Thurs May 16 2019
Crikey there's a few questions in there!  The answers equally apply to the eastern leagues.
The Combination League is ranked above the Trelawny League in County Rule 3 'Ranking of Leagues'.
Promotion into and relegation from the St Piran League (West) is from and to the Combination League only - unless they don't get their numbers to be viable confirmed and merge with Trelawny in which case the top division of that league would be the feeder for St Piran (West).  That will become clear over the next couple of days.  Any club voluntarily withdrawing from St Piran (West) at the end of the season will be assured of a place in the Combination League.
Promotion is only being made mandatory at Step 6 and above, it is not being enforced below that level.  Clubs from St Piran seeking promotion to the Peninsula League have to apply to the FA by 31st December.  Clubs from the Combination wishing to be promoted St Piran have to apply to the League by 31st December.  The top 2 are eligible but there are other criteria covering differing circumstances where the club finishing as low as 5th could be considered.  Ground grading will be a factor but will be subject to any FA dispensations in place at the time.  A maximum of 50% of the St Piran League constitution may be reserve teams.

It’s not the CCFA! Can’t blame them at all.
And we wouldn’t be in a situation which is a ‘shambles’ had the clubs firstly not expressed interest - over 26 of them. Then a further 20+ actually paid the application fee before teams started withdrawing.
Had the clubs not initially registered or even gone as far as applying then this would’ve been sorted and organising months ago.
I feel for all League Committees involved in the process for firstly getting the league running, work co-operatively and having to adjust plans at short notice because they’ve been let down themselves.

If a club is run effectively and properly, then this would never happen - it would only ever happen if a first and reserve team ran as two separate entities and the committee, management and players did not buy into a club ethos.

I understand where you're coming from and you obviously have a strong affinity to the ECPL.  I don't know what you know of the process that we've gone through to get to the point we're at now and I'm certainly not going to run through it here in great detail.  Feel free to get in touch if you want the brief.  You could make the argument that nothing has changed yet everything has changed.  I would make the following three comments/observations.
    1.  The 'suits' you refer to are the various committees and boards within the FA.  Whether you like it or not they govern the game all the way down and if they say this is 'the structure that we want in place' then that is what happens.  The changes to the NLS have been going on for a few years and are now reaching there conclusion.  They were signed off by the FA Council and are not optional.  This coming season will see pretty much all of the changes implemented with some fine tuning to come a year from now.
    2.  The policy is that ANY club can start at the very bottom and have a clear path to the very top.  The entry point to the NLS is at Step 7 and these are County based leagues so not to have one is not an option.  During the early discussions (I was out of the country at the time so this is what I've been told) the solution we now have was suggested but not taken for whatever reason.  Also, the Combination and ECPL Leagues were given the option of getting involved at Step 7.  For whatever reason(s), and I'm sure they were strong and valid reasons for each of those leagues, they declined the opportunity.  Some months later the embryonic committee picked up the reins with the one division solution which started with strong interest which sadly waned in the east.  At that point we had to change tack to ensure that the clubs in the east had good opportunities to progress and we were fortunate to get our amended plan sanctioned.
    3.  In essence nothing has changed as regards the ECPL.  I don't wish to speak too much out of turn here but they have always had a plan that in general terms reduced the ECPL down to one division as a result of the Step 7 changes and Ken at the meeting last week clearly had a plan for the way ahead for his league.  Nothing new in this at all.
No bandwagon to jump on, the policy is passed down for implementation and somebody has to do it.  You may not like the solution and that is your prerogative.  The only sure thing is that if you keep banging your head against this wall all you're going to get is a headache similar to the one I've had for the last week.

WendronOfficial got a reaction from CRD in Wendron United Fourth Team Manager Required
Following the resignation of Tony Whitehead, we are looking for a new 4th team manager; currently playing in the The Whirlwind Sports Trelawny League.
We would like to express our thanks to Tony, who led us successfully out of Division 4, for all of his commitment and hard work over the past few seasons.
Applicants must believe in and implement the ethos of Wendron United FC, and would be willing to contribute to the wider aspects of the club.
We are passionate about our fourth team developing our younger players and being a platform for transition from youth to men’s football.
The successful manager must work closely with the other managers at the club.
As well as match-day operations, the management would run training sessions, which we provide facilities for.
Please express interest in application by contacting chairman, Peter Thorne on: 07950755213
    Alternatively, email us at wendronunited@hotmail.com

WendronOfficial got a reaction from Keith B in Statement re LWC Drinks Cornwall Combination League Constitution 2019-20
You may read my comments as negative, but I’m trying to be positive toward the West teams. It is definitely not against clubs that have good facilities as there are clubs in the Trelawny that have great facilities. I’m negative in regards to travel and teams transferring from one league, certainly in regards to Newquay who I love as a club and what they offer in terms of facilities, but it does not sit right with me that they can avoid relegation from the Combo by transferring to the ECPL, only to be relegated from that. Now to be request transferring back as they face relegation from Division 1, which is effectively below the Combination League.
My reasons behind opposing Sticker joining, again it is not opposed to the club - who were second to none in hosting our recent Senior Cup semi final - but in regards to the geographic location. We have teams pulling out of St Piran’s because of travel commitments, in my opinion the Combination League provides the standard for teams in the West of the county. We already have teams failing to fulfil fixtures for relatively close games, now they have the prospect of games even further afield. As Whistleblower proved, a lot of teams from the area of the two teams in question have had a demise or now no longer exist, a key reason for that was travel at this level. Sticker reserves currently sit 4th and could finish 5th in the Duchy Prem, I’m aware it is a League that can feed into the Combination but it still doesn’t sit right with me personally, purely a matter of my own opinion.
I think that you’ve made my thoughts seem negative, and apologies if I’ve come across that way, but I’m trying to be positive in ensuring sustainability to clubs and giving clubs in the Trelawny League, the Combination’s natural feeder - although not only feeder - league the opportunity to progress. Definitely not a case of negativity or anti forward thinking as we are hoping to be represented in the SW Cornwall Premier, St Piran’s as well as applying to the Combination for our third team (may be part of the reason behind my perceived negativity 😉).
Nothing personal toward Sticker in the slightest - a club to be admired.

Sorry - your use of ‘we’ I took as multiple people and thought it may be a view that the Combination League expresses or shares. My apologies for the misinterpretation, just the way I read your initial comment.
