Went and watched a brilliant display from very talented Falmouth side but i thought Godolphin where poor tonight Ryan Barnes in the Falmouth goal a virtual spectator he could of gone and joined the brilliant F troop in a sing song they are so good and funny it must b great playing in front of fantastic supporters like that every week  . Falmouth started at a cracking pace and it wasnt long before they where2-0 up Nixon and Olly Walker the scores they where 3-0 up at half time young Ollie Patteson was having a bit of a knightmare misses catches punches it was lucky it wasnt 6 or 8 at half time ,the G s new signing Ed Timmons didnt last long he had to go off injured .Into the 2nd half Falmouth continued to dominate but the G  had 1 player who wasnt afraid to have a go at the Falmouth defence where James Ward and 1 of my all time favs Toby Clark where brilliant . Falmouth had a few players out tonight but where still great to watch the G had some out as welll but the calibre of the players Falmouth have is really good .Met some lovely people tonight Falmouth Supporters look forward to seeing them again when they come to Newquay and that will be a harder game and then they will see how good Jack Bray Evans is .Ok  Ollie Walker and Tim Nixon where tearing the G apart and Ollie WALKER had to go off injured looked like his hamstring had gone and the young lad they brought on Charlie Edney hes some player and so fast  Nice entertainment after the shit week im having . The ref had a good game my MOM for the G young Francis Pengelly gets stuck in he was really good MOM for Falmouth dont know where to start really could be any of them but its the young lad they got from Penance Callejo Stayne he dominated the midfield hello ofa player but Kellow and Balmer had good games as well . Falmouth hell of a team but the G  thought they was playing St Dennis again and couldnt string 2 passes together really 1 last thing young Ollie in the 2nd half made some  brilliant saves in th 2nd half and if it wasnt for him it would of been 10 . Well done Falmouth going to besome team that stops them being Champions it hink NEWQUAY will give them a hell of a game .Hard luck on the will get some easier matches but i think they must try harder like i had a lot in my school report. On to my next match where i will be going to Wadebridge to see Newquay play them in the Vase that is if nothing else goes wrong

Ed was stalwart at Falmouth from 2013 joining from Hayle.
After making 146 appearances (9 goals) surprisingly left for Helston in 2017 just at the time of the Falmouth rejunevation

Timmins going off injured early against a good side theres a shock. Doesn't fancy it against the good teams and back against the wall. Seen it many times before from him and you wouldn't want him in the trenches with you.

Does the sun ever shine at Dobwalls ? Have been there 3 times now and it's been wet and miserable each time . Arrived at the ground to be greeted by 2 jovial chaps at the gate ,they could have been a double act ,one asked do you want a 50/50 ,the wife said only if it's the winning  ticket .The other chap said everyone's a winner ! 😁😂🤣.The look on his mates face said it all . 😁
Just got out the car when the F Troop coach turned up fresh from pre match drinks at the Highwayman pub down the road, who were delighted for the extra business I'm sure . Strolled across to the clubhouse / changing room area mingling with fellow ardent town
supporters ,to overhear a conversation between the officials and the Dobwalls manager, who was asking if they could ban the f troop boom box and the drum .😁😂🤣 .The boom box didn't travel anyway due to another engagement 😁 and no the drum couldn't be banned ,so it was banged a little harder .👍
Town started the game playing down the slope and on the front foot with some slick 1rst time passing but being thwarted by the offside trap. One ball over the top for luke Brabyn left him through on goal ,only to be brought down from behind and a booking for the defender, the dobwalls management weren't happy .A pattern that would continue throughout the game.Town went ahead after 21mins when luke Barner reacted to a loose ball and slotted it just inside the far post .The remainder of the half saw constant town attacks being denied by some tough tackling and desperate shirt pulls ,some of which the referee was quick to punish with more bookings and a verbal warning to the Dobwalls bench .Any Dobwalls attacks were being dealt with ably by the the town defence ,one minor indiscretion however left Adie Thompson sin binned for dissent about 3 mins before half time .
2nd half Dobwalls came out all guns blazing trying to take advantage of the extra man and after a period of pressure town failed to clear the ball allowing a Dobwalls player to shoot through a crowd of players for the equaliser . Town didn't let their heads drop and after some tactical changes for fresh pace ,kirk Davis for Adie Thompson, Alex Wharton for Tim Nixon and Jack Bowyer for Luke Barner town began to turn the screw .Ollie Walker was making good runs down the left, finally leaving 3 players in his wake and supplying a low cross on 71 mins for Braybyn to side foot home for his 11th of the season in front of the F Troop . Dobwalls were now struggling against the fresh legs and further goals from captain James Ward 84 mins and a penalty after Jack Bowyer was upended in the area in stoppage time ,was cooly slotted away by luke Braybyn, sending the keeper the wrong way .2 goals ,what a way to celebrate your 30th birthday .
This was a tough game despite the scoreline ,another 3 points .Top of the league with 2 games in hand .On we go to Godolphin Atlantic on Wednesday night .

Falmouth are going well but Liskeard are going under the radar massively. Only dropped two points so far and hence remain unbeaten. Could be two very important games against Falmouth which may well determine who will win the league this season.

Callington Town, a real shame! Granted it's the Cally committee who made the decision to take on the present manager and his assistants, some of that Committee have been there awhile but why has the real Town family club disappeared. Thro Andrew Long and the likes of Phil Brown, Paul Fletcher and going back further to the Ewings brothers etc and many locals, the Marshfield was always a good place to go whether player, club official, match official or whatever, a warm welcome was always evident and the ground spic and span. I haven't experienced this seasons problems but from widespread reports, it;s not good reading, People move on, other interests, health etc etc but Cally Town you never imagined would ever come to this. Such a shame! 😪

Expect a bit of colour for Callington's visit to Falmouth on Saturday. The F-Troop have asked everyone to turn up wearing Hawaiian shirts for the game.....!

Thought the referee was excellent. The first yellow given against Dobwalls for a blatant pull back on the shirt, thus denying a goal scoring opportunity, could easily have been a red. I thought it was a pen at the end but wouldn’t claim to have the best view.

golong - can’t agree for a couple of reasons. First one is this years Falmouth team are IMO better than those teams who have recently been promoted. A couple of years work by Westy has brought together a very strong squad. Second reason is that not that many top players have actually left the league - look at the players who made Helston invincible a couple of seasons back - still playing SWPL or the squads at St Blazey / Bodmin - same players as have been in SWPL for several seasons. The difference is 10 or so of there other teams have got better. On any given weekend any team can take points off each other (perhaps excluding Falmouth at the mo) - surely it is more competitive? Surely by your reckoning every league gets weaker when the better teams get promoted - it’s the way of football. I still think the top six in SWPL Could give a lot of teams in the Western league a hard game - the way it has always been.
There are worries about maintaining good teams who will do well when promoted - but some clubs are working towards that - Liskeard / Wendron / Camelford / Wadebridge / Dobwalls  etc. to name a few - as spectators I actually believe things are getting better with more competitive matches.
