  1. Thankfully we are able to play tomorrow night, the players that came into contact with the player within our squad have not contracted the virus. One or two with some symptoms and subsequently, negative tests have been produced so the league are happy for the game to go ahead. Anyway, thanks for your concern and for Steve Carpenter who was a great help by liaising with our secretary to ensure all the correct protocols have been followed.
  2. Helston 2 - 2 Perranwell Not the best of games however the Perranwell goals where both beauties, especially the first, a first time half volley on the run from the corner of the box following a clearance from a corner that when hit, went 100mph into the top corner - unstoppable. Second one was similar with a powerful rising drive from the edge of the box on the run that also went, sort of top bins as well. Helston spent a lot of time in the Perranwell half through out the game but simply couldn't break down a stubborn defence that sat incredibly deep, playing almost a back 5 and trying to hit Helston on the break and forcing Helston into wasteful shots from distance. 2nd Half, on comes Jackson Rapsey and now Perranwell had an outlet and started to find a way up the pitch, eventually leading to their goals. 15 to go and 2 nill down, Helston kicked on a couple of gears and finally began to pin Perranwell back even further and found space down the sides at last which eventually led to forcing two scrappy goals in the last 10 to earn their point. A point a piece, a fair reflection of the game. Well officiated by Dave Bartlam, spoke to the players well and controlled the game as expected, 10/10 from me.
  3. Helston Thirds (Combination League) can host a game this Friday evening, 730PM kick off or Helston U21s can host a game this Saturday evening 5PM kick off.

  9. If they have played 3 games or more in a league higher than St Pirans then they are ineligible to play unless they have already played at least 3 times this season for the St Pirans league side they wish to represent. That side can then only play up to 3 players that meet with the above criteria.
  10. St Agnes 1 - 1 Helston Reserves Firstly, many thanks to St Agnes for paying out for the hire of the 3G to get the game on. Classic cliché of a game of 2 halves, Helston with the wind behind their backs and sporting 3 1st team lads played nice football through the thirds but rarely threatened the St Agnes keeper in anyway in the 1st half. 2nd Half and St Agnes upped their game, hitting the bar twice, forced 2 great saves from the Helston keeper and a few last ditch blocks from the Helston defence keeping St Agnes at bay until 10 minutes to go where they finally forced the ball home. Helston, huffing and puffing trying to catch St Agnes on the break woke up when going 1 behind and looked more menacing for the last 10, scoring a last minute equaliser to earn a point from a corner. Perhaps St Agnes will feel slightly more disappointed with a point than Helston but it wasn't far off being a fair result on the balance of play across the 90 minutes.
  11. Both were straight reds. Helston's was for taking out the forward when last man and in on goal, Sticker's for a slightly reckless challenge on Liam Eddy. The sticker player might say he got most of the ball but went through Liam a bit high to get it.
  12. Carrying a knock at the moment, missed the last two games, possibly having a run out for the reserves tonight for a short period to see if he will be fit for Saturday's FA Cup game.
  13. I understand combo and below are allowed spectators, St Piran and above are not.
  14. The lad was playing for Penzance for the last half of the season anyway so I'm not even sure how it's been considered that he's left Helston.
  15. The pitch at St Ives yesterday afternoon was surprisingly firm considering all the rain we've had. I know things can change rapidly with the saturated pitches but hoping that the St Ives Helston game will go ahead.
  16. Feel for the club, volunteers and the players who were committed. Where does this leave the players they did have registered? Are they now stuck with nowhere to play or can they now sign freely elsewhere?
  17. Yes but is hoping to make a come back with the reserves in a couple of weeks to start getting his fitness back.
  18. Have Ludgvan been given any kind of dispensation for their current situation from the league? For example, they won't face any point reductions or will have their fixtures put back until their situation improves?
  19. I put 5 players forward Scoffy, think one was offered the opportunity but can't make it, or something like that. Thankless task if you ask me having to pull a side together for something like this, most teams will think some of their players are better than those selected and cast a negative vibe against the whole event.
  20. St Agnes 2-1 Mousehole I took in St Agnes vs Mousehole today after arriving at Perranporth to find the game cancelled. Pretty even first half, both teams playing some good football in a biting cross field wind. Aggie edged possesion and territory in the first half but Mousehole had the better chances with some good counter attacking play and forcing the Aggie keeper into making a couple of fantastic saves. 0-0 at half time. 2nd half and not long into the half the first goal came following some sustained pressure by Aggie, a cracking save from the Mousehole keeper lead to what looked like the clearance being smashed against an Aggie player and the ball bouncing off his shins and up into the net. Simply put, it was a fluke. Not long after this, Danny O probably with one of the misses of his career, the ball falling to his feet 6 yards from the goal in the middle of the Mousehole box, taking a touch and with the goal at his mercy smashes it high and wide. The reaction of all players, managers and spectators said it all. The Mousehole equaliser came 10 minutes later with a pacey curling dipping free kick into the box on the angle from distance which the aggie keeper could only parry onto the bar and the rebound falling to the Mousehole striker to tap home. Mousehole then lifted their game and started to make the Aggie defence turn and eventually being awarded a penalty on 88 minutes which the Aggie keeper heroically saved. Play then turns and the ball is straight up the other end and Aggie win a free kick on the edge of the box at an angle near the byline. The ball is blasted in across the box only for it to find an Aggie player at the back of the six yard box to volley home from close range. Restart is taken and after 30 seconds or so the the Reff blows up for full time. Aggie deserved the win overall but were made to work for it. Was a good watch even in a freezing cold wind. Reff got all the decisions right, quiet game for him really and went by pretty much unnoticed which is always a good sign in my eyes.
