The tinkering, fads and fashion of modern football continually eat away at the game we once held dear.
Even the humble perimeter of the SWPL has seen evidence of the disease.
This isn't about players in silver boots or certain individuals habitually flopping on the floor like they've been shot, it's about a ridiculous imbalance in the league and the emergence of significant hammerings.
Initially we went along with odd ball early season heavy defeats and beatings, the shallow theory being that new clubs needed time to adjust from their usual level of football. Hierarchy reasoning in local media explained the odd 8 nil annihilation was a price well worth paying for generic lower league restructuring?
Here we are well into the season and Newquay have just thumped St Dennis 9-1. Few of us bat an eyelid anymore because it's simply become what's expected.
A once proud league providing vibrant inter county fixtures between Cornwall and Devon, which generally ensured a reasonably level playing field, now finds itself segregated and leaking reputation.
The New Age FA Designed South West Peninsula League West (and East) has become split between hardship-imposed bargain bin sides who struggle to honour midweek away games and half a dozen externally bank rolled clubs who can't wait to ship out to the Western League (with the exception of Bodmin Town of course).
Yes the modern football philosophy currently spewing into our non league tributaries has certainly had an effect. Sadly the impact is witnessing not just normal spectators getting disillusioned, the farce is also demotivating a growing numbers of players and officials.
Welcome to the eccentric world of playground dinner time score lines.
All for the good of the game.

    Saltash 6v0 St Blazey.
St Blazey started well enough bit the opening goal was awful to give away. Really poor defending. The 4th and 6th were the same. Saltash ruthless in the first half. St Blazey looked much better in the final 25 minutes and made 5 or 6 good chances but only hit the target once. Saltash are a good side. We will improve. Saltash pitch looking excellent. Good crowd over 200 as well. Bring on Helston.

Just an observation but in the previous round St Blazey played a tough mid week fixture away at Helston before loosing to Falmouth in the Vase. Falmouth didnt play that mid week.
Wednesday Helston had a big match with Mousehole before todays Vase match. Falmouth never played in the week.
Sometimes you need these little things in your favour.
Good luck to Falmouth in the next round.

You knew Bodmin were given a good test when they started wasting time taking the ball to the corner flag. Not a bad effort from a side from the fish and chip league. As for wanting the game off....no chance. With St Austell and Sticker having played it was a chance for a good crowd and the attendance of 155 was good to see.
Another defeat by the odd goal. Very frustrating. Were very close to beating several sides. Need to cut out the odd silly mistake and then who nos. Cant fault the effort and fitness.
Saltash away Wednesday. Looking forward to that one.

Won't be seeing Leeds on here for a while. Bodmin threw away 4-1 lead. Gilbert falling out with the crowd. Hanger ons told to get out of Bodmins dug out. Must of cost Bodmin a fortune with the players they brought in and a small fortune in Tamar bridge tolls. What an embarrassment, lol. Well done Camelford, what a display of football. 👍

Peter was fantastic company on away trips supporting the County U18's over the years.
My sincere thoughts go to Anita, Mark and Nicholas at this sad time.
Peter lived life to the full, and he has left me with wonderful memories of Friday night 'stop overs' that i will always treasure.
RIP Peter, my very good friend and just a lovely person to know.

I certainly can. I was at Crawley on Tuesday night. Got home at 4am. Back work for 10. Its a long old day.
What surprised me was that even though Truro have played at Hereford, its got to be one of the biggest grounds theyve played at except Wembley and the Valley. Its the F.A cup. Plenty of history for Hereford in the cup. I thought several more would be looking at that one as a match to go to.

No political nonsense going on at Truro City at the moment Paul, with the formation of the Supporters Trust all supporters are singing from the same hymn sheet. I think the main reason for the poor away support is that fans just cannot afford to cough up there hard earned money week after week. It's ok for the likes of say Falmouth Town taking 40 or 50 supporters to an away game they don't have to leave home tiil midday and can be home again by seven. Supporting City can often mean leaving home at 6 or 7 in the morning and often getting home 11 or 12 at night, and midweek games I can remember getting home at 3 in the morning and then getting up again 4 hours later to go to work. I hope this is a good case for the defence. No other Cornish team can imagine the time and expense involved supporting a National or Southern League side. Perhaps someone who regularly supports a league side can appreciate where I am coming from.

Didn’t your ‘terrible’ Blazey team beat Callington 3-1 Paul?? 🤔😂  Not much for Leeds to discuss over his Malibu and Pineapple tonight, a 0-0 draw 😂
