  1. This Saturday 21st August, CORNWALLS GREATEST EVER, the all conquering Falmouth Town 70s side will be introduced at 1:30pm on stage before the Launceston game in the clubhouse in front of the F-Troop so we can pay our tributes to those wonderful players. Please get there EARLY. Joey Scott, Colin Chegwyn, Dave Ferret, Paul Horrocks, Skipper Keith Manley and the man that started it all manager Richard Gray have all confirmed they will attend. We are hoping that others come along also. It really is going to be something special seeing those legends together. It may never happen again so lets all get to the clubhouse EARLY for the start of the tribute at 1:30pm and show our appreciation to those players that rewrote the record books. And also let them know that the club is once again back, hungry for success with a brilliant chairman and staff, a young managerial team, the best fans in Cornwall and playing squad that are doing us all proud. THIS IS THE RETURN OF ........THE BEST OF THE BEST !!!!! ALL ROADS LEAD TO BICKLAND PARK. UTT

  3. Was an interesting perspective , but perhaps a little bit more about the football and a little less about Mr Massey🤔 As nice a chap as he is … it’s becoming less Piran films and more Massey TV…. but quality work as always 👍

  4. A few seasons back I watched Okehampton Argyle play Axminster I think it was. Stuart Kane laid down the ground rules right at the start and said he would stand no nonsense ( at Okehampton you can plainly hear what the ref says). Just after the second half began Mr Kane warned two Okehampton players for foul language. Seconds later he booked those players for continued bad language. Within five minutes he blew his whistle and red carded both Okehampton players. After that no body swore again. He reffed the game well and at the end I called to him and told him so and he thanked me. Again I say, in my opinion Stuart Kane is certainly a top Referee.

  5. We have a very close relationship with the Penlee lifeboat regular fund raising and lots of club members who are also RNLI members and as a result the RNLI allow the club to proudly wear the RNLI badge on our shirts. Just for info the new stand at Trungle Parc is named the Solomon Browne stand again by kind permission of the RNLI. Hope this satisfies.

  6. What's the point? Many on here are not conversant with the Laws Of The Game. Many have no knowledge or experience of taking charge of a match. Many find it much easier to criticise. Trying to explain a decision on a Matchday in relation to the law is hard enough, imagine trying to do that to a bunch of keyboard warriors? Has no-one noticed the sheer decline of referees that come on here and comment these days? In another thread from yesterday, you've got one of the finest referees that you'll see operating on the SWPL being lambasted and ridiculed for decisions which are based on opinion! If referees could come on here and give their interpretation and view on match incidents and actually defend themselves when the criticism is completely unwarranted, there would be alot of referees missing games due to reprimand. Another thing to consider is the number of referees in Cornwall. Next week alone, there are more than 28 games without a referee! Twenty eight! It's getting worse. More are dropping out and people on here wonder why! Read through a few of these ludicrous threads and then visit a ground and listen to what officials are subjected to - you'll get a small insight as to why Cornwall and the Country as a whole is in desperate need for officials. We are losing more than we are gaining and something must give sooner or later!

  7. Greygen - you were at the match, so I totally respect your opinion. I would just add a couple of points - Stuart Kane is usually an outstanding Ref and I have seen him take loads of abuse (and more) at matches and not known him to over react. Second thing is this Callington team is virtually last years St Blazey team, lest we forget their antics on and off the pitch and discipline record for abuse and reckless tackles. I know they should be judged on actual events but sometimes players don’t help themselves.

  8. Some within West Cornwall will be familiar with the name Jamie Gray. Jamie was a larger than life character, who was the life and soul of any room he entered. Knowing Jamie, it’s hard to imagine that he had severe problems with his mental health, and last year he lost his battle with it leaving behind a wife and young family. Jamie started his footballing journey with Wendron as a youth player and then went on to play much of his adult playing career with us, also playing for Porthleven and more recently, several years with Mawnan Smith where he was a larger than life character within to their club. Many of us would’ve never had guessed Jamie struggled with his mental health, it just goes to show that we must always check on our mates and loved ones. On 29th August, with Mawnan Smith, we will be hosting a memorial match in honour of Jamie; raising funds for both Man Down - a Cornwall based charity supporting those with mental health problems - and Penhaligon’s Friends who do superb work in supporting young children. Please see the attached poster. Thank you 💙

  13. Apologies for not replying sooner @cornishteddyboy. I am new to running things at Chacewater, but will try my best to ensure you can drive up by the pitch. Looking forward to seeing you guys on Tuesday! I'll pm you my mobile number in case you want to talk. Thanks Nigel for giving me heads up

  14. Completely agree,Keith;I thought Stuart had an outstanding game:if anything he could have been even harsher against Callington. As for Greygen's comments,I can only assume(unlike Mr.Kane) he had an off day.I,m afraid watching Callington's unruly mob is about as enjoyable as watching "It's a Knockout". I give this lot another 2 months

  16. I've seen him ref a number of times and he has been excellent. From my experiences of watching him, I would have said a top referee and very fit and quick about the pitch. It would be a surprise to me if that had changed. That said, I did not see this match of course.

  18. Watched Liskeard Lanceston . Never seen a ref get some many decisions wrong . First min stonewall penalty . Waved away . Launceston scored a great long range strike from 20 yards .the half price grealish dominated the 2 Liskeard centre half’s all game they couldn’t handle him . He was a right annoying **** all game and they was sucked into it .. could see him laughing at them all game . Was beating the 6ft3 centre half’s in the air 👀😂😂They couldn’t handle him . Resulting in the 1-0 Lead Liskeard scored directly from Kick off to make it 1-1 . What in the hell the Keeper was doing still celebrating the goal 🙈In all fairness was a fair result in the end because Liskeard had about 10 chances and there strikers could hit a barn door. As per James Lorenz bagged the winner 3 mins from time .. great little player will be in the top 3 this year for goals .. his striker partner looked about 2 stone over weight . they are Good going forward but dodge at the back and they can get got at . Liskeard will finished top 6 .. impressed with Launceston again just from the Will and determination possibly deserved something .
