  9. Went Mt wise expecting Newquay to have a tough game vs Launceston because they had been doing so well , but it just didnt happen Newquay won 4-0 at a canter and never really had to play at there best and won easy . Newquay went 1-0 up from a brilliant goal from Coen Briggs then Newquay forward Louis Price had to go off with a nasty face injury after Launceston goalie came charging out feet up . Newquay where missing severel players but it looked like Launceston was as well top striker Andy Watkins was absent and i think Lewis Young was as well couldnt hear the team list .Newquay went 2-0 up from Alex Cole who was having a really good game and scored a good goal after rounding the goalie and putting the ball in the net 2-0 Half time The sun was going down and it was freezing me and Smokie where shaking with the cold and stayed for the 3rd goal which was a beauty from Phil Lowry was having 1 of the best games he has had for a long time he connect with the ball on the Volley after a Cam Turner pass and that was 3-0 time to get home to warm up . Lunceston where a very young side and had some really good players but they didnt really threaten Brodie in the Newquay goal all evening be harder against Truro Res on Saturday i would think .Newquay Sub Lucas Preston getting the 4th goal game over . Mom for me for Newquay Alex Cole and Launceston the no11 i do like wingers The ref was very good but i thought the Launceston Goalie was lucky not to get a red card but the ref made the correct decision and sending the goalie off would of spoiled the game .Well done the Mints Me and Smokie will see you Saturday could be shorts weather i saw Jamie Lowry played for Truro Res in there last match what a player he was im looking forward to see Teddy Horton for Truro heard lots of good things about him . Ok thats all for now see you up Mt WISE on Saturday
  10. Torpoint AFC 3rds 4-2 Liskeard AFC Reserves Scorers: Clarke, J.White, Babb, Lewis Another night under lights at The Mill. Finally a bit of dry weather which unbelievably made the pitch a little bobbly!! Huge thank you to Lee and the Liskeard team for agreeing the fixture so late. The game started brightly for both sides who clearly wanted to get on the ball. The visitors were better of the sides early with Broadwater consistently dropping in and picking the ball up and moving his team around. We had the early chance when Clarke was put through 1v1, after a touch he looked to lift over Agar who read the situation well and stood tall. Liskeard opened the scoring when a long ball wasn't dealt with, as the ball dropped to T.Hansford he settled to lift over Westall from 20 yards. Our errors were soon compounded when Westall played to White under pressure, he could only hook the ball 15 yards directly into the path of Rob White who struck excellently first time to nestle home. Frustrating but as last week, we didn't feel like we were out of the game. A goal soon came after 35 when a corner from Warren was met by Clarke and Agar, who had the last touch... Clarke claimed, Agar didn't. Remainder of the half stayed pretty even and an enjoyable game to watch from the sidelines. We hit things hard after the break and within 3 minutes, Robbins picked up the ball and played to Clarke who took a touch before drilling across the box to an onrusing J.White. 2-2. Buoyed by the goal, this lifted the group and the additions of Babb and Walters, for his debut, caused constant problems with their pace and direct running. Babb soon got reward for his excellent start, another corner was headed to the 18 yard line where Babb struck on the volley to make it 3-2, 3 was soon 4 when another corner was lashed home by Lewis for his 2nd is less than a week. Chambers was soon on for his own debut and settled to the game well but the tireless Mills caused problems all evening and rightly picked up his man of the match. The only thing that was missing was a goal but it goes to show that the raw stats aren't everything. Another really impressive comeback from the group. Wouldn't want to make a habit of it but I'm sure with Stevo back on Saturday we'll start better... Always a pleasure to have Baz Bottrill as the man in the middle. It's nice to have a communicator and someone that can admit to a mistake when it happens. Apologies to Lee and the team for the food situation post game, not something we'd want at Torpoint but thanks to Lee for being so understanding. In their skipper they have a proper footballer who should be playing in the SWPL next season, hugely impressed.
  11. Reds 0 FXSU 9 Reds started really well, but couldn't get the goal we deserved in the first 15/20 minutes. Students quality started to show up front and scored 3 goals in a 5 minute spell which set the tone...one of which the best free-kick I have ever seen from about 40 yards out. Onto Sunday with the short hop to Callington!
  12. Bodmin Town 1-1 Penzance Camelford 0-3 Wendron United Dobwalls 1-1 Launceston Newquay 5-0 Truro City Reserves St Dennis 2-2 Mullion Wadebridge Town 3-0 Holsworthy Bridgwater United 3-1 St Blazey Clevedon Town 1-1 Torpoint Athletic Helston Athletic 3-0 Buckland Athletic Saltash United 2-1 Street Shepton Mallet 1-1 Falmouth Town Welton Rovers 1-1 Millbrook
  13. Shows you the level player your up against even for a team around the relegation places. Parkway would love to have a striker of that experience to call on I’m sure Saturday and Monday are very tough games especially when the team is out of form and starting to feel the effects of so many games and travel
  14. Went to this last night. Very bad night with fellow strugglersTiverton winning at home and Hanwell treating this like a cup final right from the off. 36 year old ex Torquay striker Elliott Benyon rolled back the years with a brace, and they could have had more as they hit the bar twice in the first half. A very tired and patched up looking Parkway side that is staring right down the barrel at the moment, 3 huge home games in 5 days upcoming to avoid relegation for the first time in their history. Somehow, a couple of wins needs to be scraped together from somewhere. I still think (hope) that this will be achieved.
