Blues Chairman
In response to comments placed on the Cornwall Football Forum, I have today contacted senior management at Plymouth Argyle FC. They have confirmed that it is intended that the team that will play Helston AFC in a pre-season fixture will be comprised of mostly first-team squad players. The suggestion by one Cornwall Football Forum poster is that they may be sending their Academy/SWPL side for this fixture is erroneous. The team have also confirmed that after the game there will be opportunities for spectators to get photos taken with the players, who will also be willing to sign autographs, as time allows. We look forward to welcoming Plymouth Argyle players, management, officials and supporters to Kellaway Park on Saturday July 14th, Kick off 3:00 pm, for what is sure to be an exciting afternoon of football. Dave Marks
Hope this to be true only just hearing that the main squad are at Tavvy with the youngsters coming down with Kevin Hodges. Mind you at least Helston could have a match & not just a run around I hope.

Looks as if your 'Senior Management' contact told you some Porkies !!! Not one first team player my sources have told me as I am soaking up the Sun in 'Parbados'. Naughty naughty. Misinformation leads to thoughts of professionalism. Least Pz were honest enough to say it was the U15's

leedsunited
Embarrassing for Helston as they were promoting it as a first team game. False advertising
We Two
Argyles attitude to the S.W.P.L. and the teams therein, is dismissive and arrogant to say the least. They have created an air of " we are the professionals in this league, and will use its incumbents as we see fit ''. Argyle have lost a lot of respect with the way they have handled their time in the S.W.P.L. and would do well to rethink their relationship with the general public. Dave Marks
All in all it was well organised but personally having attended people were not happy with not one Argyle player of any worth being there. Also for me to have such a big so called game is somewhat pointless at this level but even when 20 Argyle kids turned up they ran Helston off the pitch mainly due to the fact half the Helston team aren’t fit enough. If chasing shadows for 90 mins is a good experience for youngsters & older a like then I totally disagree with the event of yesterday . I don’t believe theHelston side or Argyle team gained anything out of yesterday the only winner was the club.
Mike Odgers
It looked suspicious from day one when I first suggested this might happen-both games on the same day and on the Tavistock website it stated v Argyle first team -tickets £10-00. Anyway not too long for the two sides to meet again on September 8th.
Fanfare
It's a good job the admission was the same as a normal SWPL game as that appears to be what it was looking at Argyle's team
