Cornishfootball
Torpoint Athletic 7-0 Foxhole Well done for Foxhole for turning up and with a bare squad at that. The first half was very one sided and Torpoint should have been out of reach but was only 1-0 at half time. The second half saw the flood gates open and the away teams legs tire, they did create 3 or 4 chances but couldn't beat the keeper. This game could and should have been double digits really but would have been hard on Foxhole but at the same time deserved for Torpoint. They go to the top of the league for the while being and hope that others drop points in their league run ins
falselights
Really gutsy performance from Foxhole who were a man down throughout. They played a clever compact game and gave Torpoint space only in the home teams back four. The goal in the first half enabled Torpoint to play calm possession football. In the second half numbers began to count and the skills and trickery of Robbins and West opened up the Foxhole rearguard. Torpoint were able to bring on energetic youth players and the game was wrapped up by the deadly Will Ferguson - who now is chasing Robbins for the leading scorer accolades. This brings TAFC 3rds league season to a close following a fabulous run to the finish line. Other teams have games in hand but Justin Norman's men have the points. With a KMD semi to look forward to and a guaranteed top 3 finish it has been an exciting few months. Which makes the slow start all the more disappointing. Superbly led by Norman, this side are a force to be reckoned with; blending skill and strength, youth and experience. They have managed to bring on the pick of the crop of the last two years u16s into the squad and now have the two Torpoint senior teams casting covetous glances at this squad.
