SCFC
what is the actual ruling with regards to floodlights? seems that in all the leagues, some have them and some dont. Almost like clubs are punished for having floodlights as they play a lot of their home games early on in the season and in midweek, to accommodate those who dont have them? This season has made it even more of a farce with the cancellations meaning even clubs without floodlights need to play midweek, the games are starting at 6:30, therefore, players need to arrive at 5:30 latest, and if its any sort of journey then most working players wont make it/will be late. Would just be easier if there was a set rule rather than the one i heard a few years ago where "plans have to be in place for floodlights within 2 years" or something
Fanfare
Some Combo clubs that have lights are reluctant to use them and kick off evening games at 6.15/6.30 like the rest. Falmouth and Penryn spring to mind.
John Mead
SWPL Premier should be fully floodlit - with the exception of promoted clubs who have until March 31st in their first season to get floodlights up and running. Div 1 sides do not have to have floodlights - hence the FA's ruling that non-floodlit leagues should have no more than 16 teams from beginning of 2019/20 season. If only !!!! standing charge for lighting around £200+ per month whether you use them or not, add in the free food, pay the referee, you lose money opening for a crowd of around 25 Lights are a necessary evil to play in the higher leagues unfortunately, but they do make a ground look like a ground. They had to wait for settlement following a legal case and were granted extra time by the FA. I'm told they will have them in place in the next few weeks!
