Duchy Premier - Lostwithiel 1 - 3 Veryan

Excellent first 35 minutes, chances each end and a goal apiece. Lostwithiel then suffered a contentious 'last defender' sending off and in the accompanying debate also lost a player to the sin bin for the rest of the half and this altered the course of the game.

In an action packed last ten minutes, Veryan scored a penalty (Billy Davies dislocated a finger trying to save it but eventually popped it back in and carried on of course), a Lostwithiel sub got a caution for dissent (not sure how that works although i did attend all three sin bin seminars) and Veryan scored a third.

The second half was a pretty even affair, Lostwithiel kept battling and Veryan had plenty more chances but the scoreline remained at 3-1.

Two good, solid sides, plenty of effort and no nonsense. Veryan had a bit more experience in all (outfield) departments, deserved their win on the day but were pushed hard all match.

Well done both sides,  good afternoon out.

St Kew 0-4 Southgate.

The first half was, to put it mildly, scrappy, with possession being shared between the two sides reasonably equally but the only goal going to the visitors playing uphill on 19'.

After the break, Southgate now playing down the slope had by far the better of it and added three more, plus one disallowed effort. St Kew created comparitively little, but did manage to hit the woodwork and should have pulled one back when their no. 12 got free on a one-on-one and beat the keeper but saw the ball roll past the right hand post.

The referee was one of those who rarely left the centre circle. While this was not a problem in the scrappy first period, a faster and more competitive second half saw him struggle, and I'm sure even he if he looks back won't rate it as one his better 45 minutes. In the end, frustration got the better of St Kew and he first sin-binned one of their players and then a few minutes before the end showed a second yellow to another player.

Wadebridge town 5-2 tregony, probably a flattering scoreline as the game was very even until last 10 mins. Wadebridge definitely deserved the win though and Jonny may, nick dowling and Stuart parkyn showed they are still class players. They ran the show. I’ve honesrly never known duchy 4/5 to be so strong. Some very decent sides. Good luck to Wadebridge for rest of the season

Probert & Bado scorers.

Could and should have been a lot more but the Bodmin keeper made some epic saves alongside a wasteful attack.

Bodmin restricted to 3 shots which all went wide and from 20+ yards.

The Team worked hard off the ball and when in possession.

?

Keep doing it fellas! Up the Saints!
