Dave Deacon
Included in the county's only football magazine:- Carharrack's Chairman Richard Chown is concerned he doesn't let his club stagnate:"Our ultimate goal is to play a higher standard of football." Dave "Welsh" Gilbert has a 5 page "Player Profile" with an article provided by his manager at Polperro - Matt Pengelly. It's very complimentary writing by Matt suggesting that "Polperro wouldn’t have an ECPL Premier side if he wasn’t in our side." The middle two pages shows how good or bad the Senior teams in Cornwall faredover the whole calendar year of 2017. It's on a points per league game basis. Any guesses who comes out top? The usual results coverage of the Cornwall Senior and Junior cup competitions are included along with every scoreline so far this season for Truro City With an oustanding goals per game played ratio, Matt Wysocki is more than worthy to be the magazine's second "Player Profile". He is currently playing for St Day Reserves in the Trelawny League Premier Division. As usual, we don't forget our referees and we have a special guest for this issue as it's the County's Referee Workforce Officer Stuart Kane. Stuart explains the role as well as answering the usual profile questions. There are full page photos of Billy Curtis of Mousehole - how well are they doing in the cup competitions this season? While the back page suggests that Newquay and Millbrook were trying to see how many they could cram into the penalty area when they recently played each other in the Senior Cup! And finally - Ryan Barnes joined the elite group of Falmouth Town goalkeepers recently - find out who else is in the gang!
