how good is the premiership

We are constantly being encouraged to be in awe of the premiership and told it is the greatest division in the world . BUT if you analyse it  is it really that good . Many will shoot down my thoughts  stating that in the cases mentioned the Premiership teams fielded weakened teams .. Manchester United struggled against Bristol City , Arsenal lost to Notts Forest  Manchester City beat Wolves on penalties after extra time and then appeared to struggle against Bristol City in the League cup . Chelsea were fortunate against Norwich in the FA cup . As I said , granted that these teams played weakened teams but so did the championship teams . Also the alleged weakened Premiership teams had players that you would expect to be up to Premiership standard , why else have them .? These results , and others like Leicester and Fleetwood  where Fleetwood hit the post in the dying seconds in the first game etc. etc. makes you wonder if they are that good . I accept that over a season the championship teams would struggle to maintain the pace in the top division as Huddersfield and Newcastle have proved  . Is it because the prima donnas  struggle to cope with direct football , or as Corporal Jones would say " they don't like it up em " .

I feel that money is spoiling it,not enough English managers or players which is stifling our game. It’s a joke when a club like Chelsea has over 30 players out on loan that in most cases never play for the first team.

Chelsea loaning out so many players is a business model that has become very successful, and is not breaking any rules. Teams pay large fees plus players wages to take these players on loan every year so it's a very smart way of increasing income. Also, if the players do well enough (granted this is rarely the case) they may be able to break into the first team on return. If they don't do well enough then Chelsea couldn't care less because they're still earning lots of money from it.

This makes me sick. It's all about now - with no thought for the future of the game in this country. We need to be concentrating on encouraging our own youth.

Just read Ray Parlour autobiography , where they had to look after the kit of the first team players , running errands , cleaning boots , toilets ECT while training in between, and picking up about thirty quid a week for the pleasure , today's pampered youngsters don't have to go though that and earn mega money even if they don't  play in the first team . Is the hunger still there ?

But they haven't earned that right , but then again who does . We are talking monopoly money , we all talk about x  number of pounds per week for playing football as if it is fantasy football , the figures are mind boggling . Joey Barton a bread and butter footballer in his book says he was on 73,000 quid per week at QPR how many years would that take a loyal fan to earn his one week's pay . ?  Frightening !
