You might be lucky 'Atherton LR' was talking to a parent of a child at the Academy yesterday & she said the U16's are away at Swansea City today, & the U18's Alliance side had huge Cup game on Wednesday evening against Manchester City, plus with the first team being home, sounds like you have caught them at the right time as the SWPL team will always be bottom of their priority list in regards to players. Although their Newton Abbott base does not drain particularly well, could be doubtful?

We might win 8-1 Leeds ?

We really haven't had that much rain here, so game should be on unless people want a Christmas shopping day.

The thing that is irritating me is, both teams I watch (Newquay and Buckland Athletic) are playing in the same town, on the same day, at the same time. I wish one of them would be called off. ?

Used to love our trips to Buckland, great set up there, bloody good side as well when they were in the SWPL

Much better than the old place. All geared for the Southern League now, with more covering for spectators on the clubhouse side.

Just need to sort out the on field bit now, which has gone to pot the last few weeks.

For Wednesday read Thursday and for home read away! Probably won't alter the price of fish regarding starting line but always helps when the facts are correct. lol:thumbsup:

Watched Godolphin win 5-1 vs Camelford this afternoon u would never of thought that would be the score after a awful 1st half . Jamie Lowry opened the scoring for the G then young George Ellis made it 2-0 then Camelford came back 2-1 then a clear pen to the Camels and upsteps  Booby Hopkinson to smash the ball against the bar and the G Go up the other end to score from Phil LOWRY then Ross Fallens and Kyle BROWN score further goals to make the score look like a hammering i thought the young ref was really good  and was sensible having words with players instead of flashing the yellow cards ,the weather was awful and credit to both teams for trying to play football and also the 1 min silence observed for the great man Trevor Mewton .My man of the match for the G JAMIE LOWRY for 1 run where he was like Bambi on ice beating 1 player after another all was needed was the finish that ended in someones garden ,and man of match for Camelford who was just class he maybe a big lump but hes some player his passing and skill on the ball is amazing .Well done to the G a convincing win but didnt look like it after the 1st half showing .Time to warm up and dry out bloody awful weather

100% - I watched this one today, saw you and Smokie there trying to shelter from the wind / rain and biting cold. No complaints about the winners but the score line was very flattering. Knew it was going to be a difficult game for Camelford as for the 'G's' to want play today on the pitch it was obvious that both Lowry's were available and they had a full squad - which they did. First half was very even and uneventful with both teams having the odd chance and ending 0-0. Second half started along with the torrential freezing rain and the wind changing direction from across the pitch in the first half to up the length of the pitch - behind the 'G's', who from experience always seem to play better up the slope. First 20 minutes saw both teams create more chances than the whole of the first half and then Godolphin scored 2 goals in a minute - Camels came back and scored within 2 minutes and suddenly the game was 2-1 and the Camels were all over Godolphin. Within minutes Camels were awarded a stone wall penalty which Camels missed, completely swinging the game back to the 'G's' who scored shortly afterward 3-1 game over. Camels pushed, taking 2 defenders off and putting on two attacking players and got caught.

I do question whether the game was playable in the second half with players sliding and falling all over the place, but was the same for both so not affecting the result. I thought the ref was at best okay - he did try to let the game play, but on several occasions let some very bad fouls go and never came back to the offenders when the ball was dead. He also allowed some very abusive language directed at him, to his face, go. The young assistant referee was appalling and made several very poor decisions, unfortunately all going one way - the other assistant ref was very solid.

The minutes silence at the start was observed impeccably for Mr Mewton, a true legend of Cornish football.

Well done to the 'G's', good luck for the remainder of the season - both teams tried today against all the odds and as always the hospitality of the home team was great.

Saw Bodmin beat Torpoint today in a game where the officials were dreadful.

Bodmin 2-0 up at half time and down to 10 men due to a 2nd yellow for an alleged dive in the centre circle of all places, funny thing is that it was a foul and the ref was in the wrong place. Didn't consult a lino or anything, sounded like the assessor was having fun writing down his notes though.

Torpoint grabbed one back straight after the restart but Bodmin got a 3rd after a corner but there was a foul which the ref missed. Point got another back and could have snatched a draw but Bodmin held on. They looked dangerous on the break with 11 and going down to 10 men did slow the game down

It was a 100% dive, good tackle from the Torpoint player.

Yeah but Tezza does love a wind up at Newquay's expense. I just take it with a pinch of salt....

I don't like to wind up Newquay 'Atherton LR' they are one of Cornwall's Premier 'Clubs' that have been in the Doldrums far far to long! But One win in 10 games

That's not festive cheer for the Peppermints supporters! ( Nibble Nibble! )

How did Buckland do yesterday Atherton?

A very tough afternoon yesterday for Bodmin at The Mill, pitch got very heavy & I think all the players were pleased when the whistle went! Credit to Torpoint ground staff for getting the match On though, well done lads

Bodmin where very lucky today to get three points as we kept on putting on pressure in the second half to at least get a point. But well done to Bodmin for holding on for their victory.

Was told sat night by a very honest Torpoint player that bodmin would have ran out 4 or 5 nil winners had they not had a man sent off
