That's fair enough, but we do. Never mind, I'll have to watch either Barnstaple Town v Wimborne Town, Cronies v Okehampton Argyle, or Heavitree Town v Topsham...

The ko should be at 3pm at grounds with lights - another cornwall fa Victorian idea !

No it is not, why should clubs with lights incur the additional costs of lighting up the ground when others don't.

The option to request a later kick off is there if you don't mind spending an additional £60 odd , along with all the other costs of staging a football match.

Just seen the change in the Stoke Gabriel kick off time, i personally think early kick offs are better (not too bad considering the sides are only an hour or so apart), gets on with your saturday rather than waiting all day for 3pm to come around!

probably wouldnt be so good if teams had to travel large distances mind

Bodmin game still on ?? ??

Whilst drinking a nice skinny dolce latte with chocolate sprinkles in a certain store in bodmin I overheard that bodmin have a few missing tomorrow so with another heavy overnight frost might we expect another frozen pitch or an unplayable pitch due to damage caused by all the knee skidding on it on Wednesday night ?

Years ago there used to be press deadlines re the Evening Herald, etc, so games that needed extra-time used to kick off early. Nowadays we have the same thing with the local radio stations wanting the results asap, so they can broadcast them at around 5.30pm.

I can remember going up to watch Argyle on the railway Soccer Specials, used to be £3 return from Penzance. After the train had stopped at every station on the way back, by the time we had pulled into Pz there in the newspaper booths used to be the Evening Herald soccer paper with all the scores both National and local plus match reports.

We used to buy cans of beer, drink them on the train on the way up, any left by the time we pulled into Plymouth were put into a locker for collection and consumption on the way home.

Anyone else remember?

Happy days.

THat Plymouth Evening Herald was a great Saturday night  occasion as we waited for the Van to race into Camborne square with a big crowd  in anticipation-The paper had all the local football news and every match report up to half time.

The Argyle report was in full and I will never forget seeing Jimmy Greaves of Spurs sitting in the train reading his own headlines ^Greaves sinks Argyle" Early 1960's

On one occasion Pengegon F C had a friendly against a team called Torr United before an Argyle game and on the train home there was a full report of our game in the Evening Herald.

Great days _Saturday was a 24 hour Football day

Bodmin OFF.

If Truro City are to ground share at Priory Park next season it wont be acceptable to the National League and Truro to have so many games called off due to the weather seeing that clubs will be travelling up to 300 miles distance.

Two consecutive games postponed -waterlogged pitch

Looking at those scores, looks as like all the Premier Division sides ( except Callington) all completed their objectives. Tough ties for Liskeard & Wendron, both being away to top flight opposition, always harder when playing away. Both with the Charity cup to play for & Liskeard in with a great shout of promotion this season todays results I am sure won't ruin their seasons. Mevagissey deserving a mention also holding Saltash to only the four goals. Sticker also putting their rotten league form & difficulties adapting to Premier division life to one side & progressing away at the expense of Porthleven. No cup shocks this weekend, except West Cornwall, cracking result at Callington, hope you get a favourable draw in the next round

Ohagan scores both of the newquay goals,  one header from a corner and the other from a corner scored a volley after bringing the ball down. Wendron player scored bottom left corner from a shot from the edge of the area. Not sure of the wendron player who scored. Sorry.

The Ashes bossed the match for the whole of the 90 minutes but it was still a very poor game.Mevagissey had one shot on target all afternoon and the Ashes were very wasteful in front of goal. When the Ashes attacked the visitors got numbers back behind the ball which made it a very crowded area.

Two first half goals for the home side,a Dave Trott shot from 15 yards on 14 minutes and a Lee Phillips scrambled effort 3 minutes later. It could have been better for the home side before half-time when Tom King was through with just the keeper to beat but he put his shot wide.

It took the home side until the 87th minute to get the third goal when from a short corner on the left the ball was played to Sam Farrant who swung the ball over the Mevagissey defence and keeper into the top far corner of the goal.A minutes later and a Paul Heveran shot hit the visitors post and with just one minute of the game left Ryan Richards scored the Ashes 4th of the game and his 22 goal of the season.

This was one of those games that you knew what the outcome is going to be but how difficult were the visitors going to make it.
