Veryan 1-1 Torpoint

A poor start from the visitors saw Veryan take a 1-0 lead on about 8 mins, a ball given away and then not cleared resulting in a cool finish into the corner from 10 yards giving the keeper little chance. A sin bin saw Torpoint down to 10 men for 10 minutes of the half.

The 2nd half saw both sides going for it with a penalty miss for Torpoint and then a crucial clearance and another last ditch challenge by stopping a good goal chance by the Torpoint defence. A fine diving save saw the Torpoint keeper keep it at 1-0 and another tip around the post also kept the scores tight.

A great cross from a Torpoint defender saw a volley finish from the striker to make it 1-1 and then a late red card for a 2nd yellow saw Torpoint end the game with 10 men. The home side pressed for a winner and the visitors also had a chance to take the points but the spoils were shared on the day.

Surprising result in the premier division today with Saltash beating St Dennis 3-1, wasn’t expecting that but having saw the first half Saltash looked the better side, number 8 for Saltash looked very useful.

No surprise the way we played,we were tripe they were better, they deserved the 3 points we deserve a kick in the face,if I could swear on here I would but I can't so I won't!

St Dominick 1 - St Newlyn East 4

After 2 losses to St Dominick in the league and cup - St Newlyn East remind St. Dominick that the west side of the Duchy league don't take kindly to a double spanking! And with that the Newlyn army stay top. Thanks must go to Queens Rangers and Godolphin who played out a very thoughtful 2-2 draw. After some luckless weeks Newlyn seem to have turned a corner...

Cracking game of football played in a great sporting atmosphere that showed just how competitive this division is! St Dominick never gave up to be fair, but Newlyn were just not going to let the three points slip. Credit to a superb refereeing performance by Keith Greenleaf of Bideford and smashing food at the pub after! Here's hoping we both make the move up to Prem next season!

Queens 2 - 2 Goldolphin

Good competitive local derby, where the visitors could feel a little unlucky to have a player dismissed in the 2nd period.

The visitors took the lead on 15 mins and Friendship equalised 25 mind and we should have had 3/4 by half time, but poor finishing when well placed a keeper in good form kept it level at the break.

We took the lead 2 mins into the 2nd half with a great finish by Seery and then wasted numerous chances to see the game out, with the keeper stopping one certain goal with his face/nose. The sending off helped the visitors who too there credit kept plugging away and seemed to find a 2nd wind.

They equalised on 85 mins with a mistake from a set piece which left us a little deflated and the game fizzled out.

Credit to Goldolphin who never gave up and deserved a point for there effort in the 2nd period, but 2 points dropped for us.

We both stay unbeaten and will be challenging favourites St Newlyn East and St Dominck for the title.

Good luck to G for the remainder, some good youngsters coming through.

St Cleer 2-1 Pensilva

The moorland derby was a tight game of end to end football, not sure how we didn’t score more as we hit the bar 3 times but great to see our neighbours able to field a team and put up a great fight with a lot of youngsters playing. Goal scorers for the Saints were Seelsy and Bally with Zak Mitchell scoring for the Pens
