Knock Out Cup - St Newlyn East (Div One)  1 - 4 Torpoint Athletic (Premier)

A cracking cup tie at Cargoll Road with the visitors worthy winners but the scoreline doesn't do St Newlyn East justice or reflect the balance of play.

It was end to end stuff right from the kick off with Adam Brayson putting Torpoint ahead after 25 minutes. The home side had two very good chances to equalise shortly before the break but were denied first by an excellent save and then by a post. Twenty minutes into the second half Matthew Westall extended the lead but Saints weren't done and pulled one back through Ross London. Within a few minutes Torpoint capitalised on some defensive errors with Byron Robbins and William Fergusson taking the score to 4-1.

A very competitive but very fair match, Torpoint's side  were generally younger, fitter and better organised but St Newlyn were never out of it.

Tough conditions so well done on getting the game on, the pitch was excellent.

I thought you were going into the break level if the keeper didn't somehow tip that shot onto the inside of the post and out. Your keeper made some good saves to Keep you just 1 behind at the break and there were other chance at both ends

A couple of very well finished strikes from Torpoint close to the end sealed it but well done to your team and I'm sure there will be a Torpoint v St Newlyn East next season in the League as you are pushing for promotion

You do know Paul is a league official? Nothing to do with SNE?

Tregony 2-5 polperro, what a tough league Duchy 4 is this season, polperro were a decent side. Mind you we wasn’t helped with a bare 11 and then being down to 10 men after 10 minutes and then a sin bin as well. I’m not gonna take anything away from polperro tho. They were a good bunch of lads and if they stay together, they’ll fly up the leagues.

St Dominic 5 Gunnislake 3

In poor conditions this wasn't a great game of football even though the score line suggests otherwise!

A brace from Charlie Coates, and one each from Ben Jeffery, Nathan Behennah and Liam Hunn was enough to send us level on points with St Newlyn East at the top of the league!

Fair play to Gunni they never stopped and were very competitive
