David Bray
Outstanding result from last evening. Cambridgeshire 4 - 3 Suffolk. News of the draw for Round 4. Gloucestershire or Cornwall v Essex or Durham. Date for the playing of the above, either Jan 13th or 20th. Got to beat Glouces first, worry about the date afterwards. Bobjfh
Isle of Man have beaten Lancs and Middlesex - must be a promising side and with both Riding sides out and either Cheshire or Liverpool going out in next round- it’s got to be looking good for Cornwall to go one better this year ? Bobjfh
Real shame for the lads - below is the link to ‘highlights’ of the game. It does look like the squad is missing the composure of last season, across central defence and central midfield - lots of effort but decision making missing a bit in this game. Still plenty to play for this season, And Glynn’s comments at the end say it all. Good luck to all https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FIQ6hsrByF4

A squad and a season like last season does not come around very often for a small catchment county such as Cornwall. Also Glyn is not helped this season by a couple of very good players who are for their own reasons not willing to play.

Dave - I know at least one who you are taking about, really don’t understand an ego that doesn’t want to play County football - the chances don’t come around often -maybe a ‘golden boot’ is more important? Martin Eddy
Can you not stop them from playing for their club on the day of the county game I know that it is a bit extreme but attitudes need to be changed Not just in local football
Bobjfh
Just now, Postman Pat said: Can you not stop them from playing for their club on the day of the county game I know that it is a bit extreme but attitudes need to be changed Not just in local football In many Counties you can and clubs are not allowed to play players selected for County football - the point is though, if they don't want to play how much use will they be?? I do question the attitude of the players involved though and the advice they are being given by their club or people they listen to. As this is an U18 issue, it would be wrong to 'name and shame', however I would put a small bet that the same player(s) will court controversy as their 'careers' move into men's football. Dave Deacon
1 hour ago, Bobjfh said: In many Counties you can and clubs are not allowed to play players selected for County football This is still the case. Glynn always tells the players - that if they have a change of mind and don't want to play, that's ok. That happens. What is probably more upsetting is when there is a communication breakdown! Lucky Durham, they travel to Cirencester Town FC for the fixture on the 13th January. Don't have to put up the limited facilities at Almondsbury.
