Duchy Div One - Gunnislake 1 - 1 Queens Rangers

Pretty grim afternoon for the official 'opening' of Gunni's new pitch at Albaston but its during weather like this that the old Bealswood Road pitch may not have been playable so the great efforts by Mike Kinger and his colleagues have already paid off..

This was a really even match with plenty of tackle timing issues which led to a series of yellow cards. There were few chances iether way but Queens took the lead after 20 minutes through Jamie Seery and the Gunnislake equaliser came on the stroke of half time from Simon Kelly. A very welcome first point for Gunnislake.

St Mawgan 3-3 GSM

On the whole a close game, with both teams content to let the other keep the ball at the back and work hard if they wanted to get the ball forward.

Gsm went 1 up with a well taken goal from Rory Jarvis following a bit of neat play. St Mawgan replied with a header from a cross from the right, HT.

The 2nd half was a bit more open then the first. St Mawgan eventually scoring following a corner through a couple players and between the gks legs.

A bit of neat play in the box resulted in a penalty being awarded for a handball from the sliding defender, pen tucked away by Keegan Lloyd. GSM then went ahead following a corner that almost went straight in and sam Bullen was there to tap in from a couple yards. GSM were sure the result was in the bag until a cross came from outside the box, slight deflection took it goalward and a mistake the gk won't want reminding about resulted in the points being shared.

Ben Ringrose had a good game in the centre today, Man of the match

Showing as 10-4 on Full-time. Either way, along with the thriving junior section, great to see some good times back at The Rec. Last few years have been tough to watch.

Great club st columb. Got some good people working hard for all teams behind the scenes again. Good to see a youth set up again.
