I believe Grampound have been given some time to regroup before resuming their fixtures. I hope they will be able to continue. Had some ding dongs there over the years and I would be sorry to see another good Club in trouble.

Yes, correct. As a league we are pretty strict about teams crying off fixtures on a one off basis but if there are ongoing problems and a team is in real danger of folding then we are quite willing to help with a few weeks off. It can be disappointing and disruptive for their opponents but these problems can strike the best of clubs at any time and it is happening more frequently. We are all in this together.  Hopefully Grampound will come good once again.

Division Four  -  Looe Town Reserves 3 -1 Week St Mary

This was a good performance from the promising youngsters at Looe, they were quicker, sharper and wanted it more than the visitors but didn't totally dominate. Week  St Mary did create chances throughout the game but lacked that extra something needed to convert them into goals.

A cracking strike by Archie Sweeney put Looe ahead after 20 minutes but Frank Barriball had levelled by the break.

Fifteen minutes into the second period Max Anderson (i think !) got the all important second for Looe from the penalty spot which left Week fighting against the odds up the slope, and it was Anderson again that wrapped up the scoring with 20 minutes remaining.

This was a good natured game well handled by visiting  Yorkshire referee  Chris Quinn and a good advert for the game at this level, congratulations to all concerned.

Probus  Grampound. Big rivals in the past. Local Derbys. I played for them in the Tim Lobb days.

Lovely pitch and a superb committee.  They deserve better.  Big loss if they withdraw from the Duchy league.

They must be one of the longest serving clubs.  Good luck for the future.
