Soccer Follower
Statement from Chacewater Football Club We are very sad to announce that the Committee of Chacewater Football Club took the hard decision last night to withdraw the Reserve team from Division Two of the Trelawny League. As you will be aware,Chacewater's Reserve team have been members of the former Mining League, and now Trelawny League, for over thirty years and over that time have been very successful. The last couple of years have been a struggle, however, but we went into this pre-season with high hopes for the team.It has been shown in the friendlies played that some of the players which have signed for the club unfortunately cannot fully commit to playing each week which left the Committee with much soul searching and ultimately we had to make the decision to withdraw the team. We will now regroup with the players that we have which are fully committed to the club. We wish all the remaining teams in Division Two the best of luck for the season. We will make no further statement on this matter.
RAPPO
Really sorry to hear that Nige, if a club like Chacewater has to pull a team out the league its a real sign of the times. Had many a battle on that lovely compact ground, especially as a schoolboy with Malabar, scary!! Got to be one of the best and charasmatic venues in junior football, better than a lot of Combo grounds in my opinion. Some really top people at the club as well, no more so than yourself Nige. My dad played there as a nipper in the fifties and ive heard some great stories! Had some brilliant teams there over the years, hope you continue to have success with the first team mate. peggy78
I echo rappo's sentiments. Sorry to hear that but hope that the club itself remains strong.
Graham Hart
This is awful news. We played our first pre season friendly at Chacewater and the pitch was superb as was the hospitality. I'm so sorry to hear this Nigel and wish you and all at the club a very successful season in the premier league and that you restart the 2nd team next season. Sijames
It's wayyyyyyy to easy to enter a new team nowadays that's why established clubs are folding!
Mangle
Stop the new teams entering for a couple of years. Short term "pain" for longer term gain. How many new teams entered this year.....about 7 or 8?
