Mandy K Aggiemaid
All roads led to Enys Parc on Sunday as St Agnes AFC Ladies hosted a depleted St Breward Ladies in their penultimate fixture of the 2016/17 Season. With the final score 10-0 to St Agnes (Jodie Hood 2, Debbie Duncan 2, Lexi Riley 3, LB Medcalf, Suzanne Hurrell, Helen Jones on target) the result saw them lift the Pirate FM CWFL League Winner's Trophy. Unbeaten so far this season St Agnes face Bude Ladies next week which is sure to be a tough match to close the season as they are the only team to take points off them in their only 1-1 draw at home. Following a players vote and with a few players retiring/moving away the team have not applied for promotion as the squad hasn't enough players able to commit to the extra travel etc involved at SWWFL. After a few weeks down season break St Agnes Ladies will resume training for the 2017/18 Season and ladies players (aged 16 and over) of any level of experience or none at all welcome to contact manager Mandy Kimmins for more details 07974 370666 or emailbolsterpaper@gmail.com

The ladies game in the county and countrywide is in good health - it just needs more ladies wanting to get involved. Again well done St Agnes Ladies. Echo that Keith. Also refreshing to see a club being clear and honest about not stepping up. Well done St Agnes.
cornishteddyboy
See how times have changed. Years ago it was down to the club's management committee who made the choice to seek promotion, etc, nowadays it is player power that controls a team's future. Mandy K Aggiemaid
I guess there would be no point in a club taking promotion if the players weren't able to commit to traveling to Exeter etc for away fixture in the SWWFL though Paul? We have all seen teams falling apart at all levels recently and we want to be able to keep ours going into our 15th Season. Both Helston and Bude have applied to go up with Illogan electing for relegation so there is movement around the Women's Pyramid within clubs hopefully also considering their own player base and what's right for their team. PzFan
Don't see anything wrong in that. Given our geographical location, promotion has to be taken seriously. Less women's teams/leagues compared to the men's game.
