Keith B a lot of the shortage of players for women's football is probably exactly the same as the men's , Sundays are now a day of work and with many young people going into further education they have to pay their own way , and as have been on other posts several go on to uni and get work in the areas , and don't come back to Cornwall  ,  up country they also have ladies teams struggling for players and teams folding  so it is I am afraid football in general  is losing teams and volunteers ,  will probably level out  , but any regular to the forum's will read nearly every week clubs searching for players , managers ect  . Sad for football .

On behalf of all the teams and players in our league having read the thoughts on here today and recently i don't want to comment or reply to them.

Some wonderful volunteers are working very hard to maintain and sustain our female game and unfortunately some of the misguided comments on here are far from helpful.

Just because no response has been made to comments on this forum it certainly doesn't mean there is no interest in the ladies game.

There are some issues we are trying to resolve (as predicted) and if anyone wants to come along and join the league committee or help in any other way please get in touch.

The ladies game is very much alive in Cornwall and we are trying to keep it that way but it needs the support of everyone.

Thank you Mandy K (Chair PFMCWFL & Manager St Agnes Ladies)

It's a growing game. More and more sides are producing girl's teams and it is a sport more actively encouraged in secondary schools for girls to play. In 3-5 years I can see the ladies' game in Cornwall really flourishing if the correct steps and help is provided - and those volunteers like Mandy stay involved in the game.

Let's be honest, it's great to see more participants and playing competitively, socially and as part of a healthy lifestyle. Once girls would not set foot on a pitch - the men's netball league is hardly thriving so let's give them so credit.
