Vets League 4th Dec

Recommended Posts

Royal Par Vets 0 Carlyon Arms 3, KO Cup semi-final. We had been requested to cancel this fixture as the league wanted us to play Wadebridge at home instead, understandable as we are a vets team first a foremost. To no ones surprise the opposition cancelled on us late Saturday night as they were unable to field a side. Fortunately Carlyon Arms kept their team on "standby" and even at that late stage got a side together (without complaint). With a new kit and our Xmas do in the afternoon we were desperate for a game to start proceedings. It's disappointing that a "town" side like Wadebridge, with all it's pull, with all it's contacts can't raise a team yet little old Royal Par, everyone's favourite whipping boys turn up week in week out, home and away without fail. Carlyon Arms are a pub side yet they can get 12 players with 15 hours notice.
