Illogan RBL or Illogan BL

Recommended Posts

On 29th May 1971 the British Legion was granted a Royal Charter to celebrate 50 years of the Charity. This means from the start of the 1972/73 season the BL could be called the RBL so the names of their football teams altered as well.

That also means that websites like mine who never thought about it will have to alter hundreds of pages for matches taking out the R to make their site 100% accurate.

Or should I not bother?

Don't bother, it's the same club and the name change wasn't forced upon them.

Many people still refer to a club as St Austell rather than AFC St Austell. The way they are referred to on here they should have been rebranded as St Austell Town.

You could use fchd.info to see how Richard Rundle tackles name changes.
