Chris Davey
It's great too see so many players who have played youth and/or men's football for Probus included. Joe Adkins Alfie Flack Ed Harrison Josh Penrose Jack Rapsey Plus maybe 1 or 2 more but not sure which ones! Good luck to Glyn and Cornwall Youth for the season. Bobjfh
Chris - Charlie Hambly and James Haywood are the other two who played for Probus in youth football. Out of the 7, 6 (Joe, Jack, Ed, James, Charlie and Josh) are playing SWPL Prem, which is not bad for 17 year olds, all of whom played in the same youth team at U16 (Charlie and Ed having been schoolboy players for Torquay United) - you can see why they won their league. Ashton11
Where are Joel Allen and jack Webber ! Surely two of the best players of this age group, stand out players for porthleven 1st team last season and this and also won everything at u16s last season including the county cup for Heston. Bobjfh
Ashton11, it may be that Glynn felt on performance at the trials that he had other players who were a better fit in their positions for what he was looking for, he has said that the standard was very high and both are competing against many players a year older. Or it could have been for any number of other personal reasons, the lads concerned may not be available for dates given; they may want to play for their club, as fixtures are mainly Saturday's; they may not want to be squad players as used to starting or they may have injuries etc. Either way, both Joel and Jack are excellent players. kevin richards
The good news is that Glynn came & watched our game at Illogan on Saturday where, once again, Joel & Jack were outstanding & has added both lads to his squad. Thanks to Glynn for taking the time to watch these 2 lads & giving them the chance to show him what they could do. I'm certain the boys will not let him or the county down. We at Porthleven FC are very proud. ???
