Him and I think John Matthews the two slowest players you could think of were fantastic in midfield. Follows not long after the loss of flying winger Nicky Jennings Taken from Plymouth Herald FORMER Plymouth Argyle player Russell Coughlin has died following a car crash in Carlisle, aged 56. The tough-tackling midfielder played on 152 occasions for Argyle, scoring 22 goals, between 1984 and 1987. He was a key member of the 1985-86 promotion winning side assembled by manager Dave Smith. Coughlin went on to play for Exeter City and Torquay United in the 1990s. He also represented Swansea City, Carlisle United, Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool during a long playing career.
