Following last night’s Trelawny League AGM, Troon AFC are delighted to announce the addition of a 2nd team for the 2016/17 season.

It is our plan to use this team as a pathway for the club’s Youth players to access Adult football. FA statistics show that the sport’s dropout rate increases rapidly after U16 level so as a club we are excited about taking a positive step toward bucking this national trend.

Our Youth section is particularly strong this year. We will be entering teams at Under 16, 14, 12, 11, 10, 9 and 7 levels. In addition there will be the Soccer School providing training for children between the ages of 4-8 and the Black Hawks who are our U16 disability team. Training for the Youth teams will be held on Saturday morning’s from the 2nd of July at Grouter Park. Training times can be found on our Troon AFC Youth Facebook page.

For the forthcoming season the 1st team and 2nd team will be managed by Jason Smeeth and Jody Marles respectively. Both managers have a long association with Troon AFC and after years of hard work behind the scenes are now focusing their efforts on continuing the Club's development on the field. The 1st team will continue to play in the Trelawny Premier division, with the 2nd team playing in division 4.

Pre-season training for the Adult teams will commence on Wednesday 6th July, at 18:30. We look forward to the return of last season’s playing squad and the former U16’s who will be looking to make the step into Adult football. We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome any new players who are interested in joining Troon AFC during the most exciting phase in the Club’s history.
