Evely Cup

The Evely Cup was donated by George Evely, the first secretary of the East Cornwall League, to become an annual competition between the League Cup winners of the two leagues, East Cornwall and Combination. The venue of the match swaps each season from one end of the county to the other no matter who were the previous season’s victors.

First played for on Saturday 17th April 1965, with Porthleven defeating Camelford at St Blazey. In those days football wasn’t played on a Sunday and on that day four other Combination League games were being played at the same time!
