100GroundsProject
Can anyone point me to resources or documents that cover the history (formation, grounds, trophies, attendances, key events) of Nanpean Rovers? I've found quite a bit about the opening of Victoria Bottoms from local newspapers (including a very interesting letter written to the Daily Mirror in 1939) but other than that information is a bit slim. A West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser article from 1907 makes reference to the opening of a new ground but that's pretty much it. Thanks in advance for help on this one. Guest
They have played at Victoria Bottoms from about 1935 ish and as everyone knows it is in an old quarry. They have played in the FA Cup and were founder members of the Combination League and made the step up to the South Western League in the 1961/62 season and stayed until 1972/73. Usually found nearer the wrong end of the table, around 1968 their whole squad lived within a five mile radius of the ground.
