Portreath v St Ives Res,I didnt play today due to illness but went down to watch, got there a about 10 mins in & watched St Ives take the lead with a well taken goal against our stand in goal keeper,1-0 it stayed until the 88th minute,in which time St Ives defended well but Portreath played equally as bad.

So back to the drama,Portreath get a corner,Johns takes an in swinger which eludes everybody & ends up in the back of the net,I couldn't believe it,up until that time we didnt really have a shot on target, then to top it off just after the restart Treloar watches the ball roll to his feet 20yds out then drives into the top corner.

Final score St Ives 1 Portreath 2 - sometimes you need a bit of luck & today we got some.

We'll take the 3 points & look forward to next week,Junior cup against Trevenson.

Titans FC 2-1 Storm (Praze) Res

Titans took all three points in a game in which they missed several chances. Dominateing play in the first half the Titans had a hand full of chances to take the lead but a couple of close shots and a few great saves kept their goal tally at zero. To storms credit they keep plugging away and were rewarded with a goal from the penalty spot shortly before half time. Starting the second half a goal down the Titans failed to find the same sort of dominence they enjoyed in the first. With 25 mins left on the clock a piece of individual brilliance from Titans top goal scorer Pete Barnse brought the scores back level. After this the titans continued to cause the Storm defence problems with the winner eventually coming from a quickly taken corner which found its way to second half subsitiute Kevin Eddy who rifled a shoot across a packed box and into the back of th net. A very enjoyable game to watch with both teams getting on with the game.

Thanks Storm for a good game.

Titan goals: Pete Barnes & Kevin Eddy.

REDRUTH UTD 1

St Just Res 1

(Goalscorer Ryan Baber)

Redruth finished this game wondering how they contrived to throw away 2 points. Despite conceding an early goal in the first 6 minutes, the home side dominated much of the match. However an unusual incident occurred midway through the second half when both Redruth’s keeper and defender missed the ball, and the St Just striker performed a ‘Ronnie Rosenthal’ style miss from 6 yards out, as, facing an open goal, he crashed the ball against the crossbar.

Ryan Baber got Redruth back into the game just 10 minutes after the opening goal by St Just, and from that point, Redruth threw wave after wave at the St Just goal. However, the combination of some good saves from their keeper, and the lack of a cutting edge from the Reds, meant they had to settle for a share of the points.

Redruth’s man of the match was Ryan Baber, although both Jason Smith and Simon Barrand also rose to the occasion.

REDRUTH UTD RES 2

Crown Inn Glory 5

(Goalscorer: Moha Imchichi 2)

Reds 2-0 up but 2nd place Crown Inn turn the tables after Redruth had a glorious chance to make it 3-0.

Man of the match - veteran Nigel Andrew. Justin Pascoe also with a good showing.

Indeed I did - There's only so much I can watch nowadays! Porky knows I like to wind him up. Just a couple of debatable offside decisions. One was where Graham Jewell (Yes he is still going!) being very honest hats off and the other where the Illogan lino could have taken a leaf from Grahams book and been honest.
