Dave Deacon
The Cornwall County FA have released an update on this season’s County Youth Under-18 representative side.Glynn Hooper’s squad will have matches on successive Saturdays in the South and West Counties Championship. The postponed game against Gloucestershire has been rescheduled for Saturday 27th February and will be held at Truro City FC with a 2pm kick off. Then the final fixture against Somerset will be on Saturday 5th March, but this will be at St Dennis FC with a kick off time of 2pm or 2.30pm, depending on confirmation from the opposition. The CCFA seem happy with the progress made this season “It has been a great season so far for the U-18 lads with some fantastic performances and a wonderful camaraderie developing.“Truro City have been wonderful supporters of the representative side this season and will be hosting the game on the 27th February, however as their first team have a game on the 5th March we have agreed to hold the game at St Dennis and make use of their fantastic new facilities as they host a County game for the first time.“Cornwall also have a great chance of making it to the Final of the South West Counties Championship and will know exactly what they need to do in the two matches to top Group A and progress.”As expected manager Hooper has stayed loyal to the same group of lads that have done the county proud so far. David Bray
The Gloucestershire v Somerset fixture is ON at Oaklands Park, Bristol today. Their synthetic surface has withstood the rain. Whereas the grass surface for Bristol Rovers just down the road not so lucky. Score updates when available. A draw would do Cornwall nicely.
