F.A.Cup Welton Rovers 0-2 Truro City

Recommended Posts

Truro progressed to the next round of the F.A.Cup after a stylish performance at Welton on Saturday, City set a very strong tempo from the off and the Welton defence were stretched for long periods of the game.

Truro took the lead on fifteen minutes after they were awarded a free kick which was quickly taken Wills crossed the ball to the far post were Vercesi netted with a firm shot. It was almost two six minutes later when Martin's shot from the edge of the area was well saved from Westlake, Welton however continued to frustrate City with last minute tackles and a little luck to survive to half time.

Welton were further hampered in there efforts on fifty seven minutes when there midfielder received his second yellow and under the baking heat gaps started to appear and on 69 minutes Jake Ash scored from just inside the area with a crisp drive. Danny Harris was unlucky not to score on two occasions with a effort cleared off the line and hitting the bar in the final minute, City will hope that they finally might get a home draw on Monday and on this performance will be very hard to beat.
