number 9 do you have any idea when the Truro fixture has been rescheduled?? I can't help but think about a certain game a couple years ago that got abandoned that involved Callington (Camelford) for the league to turn around and say that it would be replayed at the end of the season when there was nothing to play for....... in an ideal world they'll apply the same ruling here..... Just saying!! meow!

Any news on who is or isn't looking like gaining promotion?

Great winning runs by both Millbrook and Callington should see them promoted.

Changes for next season almost certain to be:

Premier (20)

In - Helston Callington

In - Stoke Gabriel

Out - Exmouth (promoted to WL)

Out - Liskeard (relegated)

West (18)

In - Liskeard

In - Illogan (promoted)

In - Millbrook

Out - Helston Callington

East (18)

In - Brixham

In - Braunton

In - St Martins

Out - Stoke Gabriel

I think 3rd place is good enough to gain promotion to the western league premier division and that's only the second team to move forward buckland did it not long ago. It rather makes a joke of the pyramid system we may as well go back the south western league and get better gates and have less traveling and over the border they can have their devon county league back.

Go back just 30 years to the 1983-4 SWL season when Bugle & Millbrook were involved, 9 Devon sides were also playing, travel was just as far. SWL Devon sides 83-84 Season - Newton Abbot - Appledore - Plymouth CS - Torrington - Tavistock - Holsworthy - Clyst Rovers - Teignmouth - Plymouth Command. Just for the record, Newquay were Champions, Launceston 2nd, Millbrook 3rd and Bugle 4th. Bodmin Town were rock bottom.

The Western League (Prem) had both Saltash (R/U) & Liskeard (5th) involved, the Champions were Exmouth Town. (Falmouth Town had left at the end of 1982-83 due to the huge expense involved & forced into the Combo League for 83-84) Saltash & Liskeard both returned to the SWL in later years although Saltash did try again in Western One for 2 seasosn less than 10 years ago). The Cornish sides used to be in the top 5 of the Western Prem, not that it did them a lot of good - the only way up the Pyramid from Cornwall these days is with money that has been begged, stolen or borrowed.

One minute Exmouth are Western League bound, the next they are not.

Needs to be sorted because if Callington from the West and Stoke from the East are Premier bound, who will be on their way down.

Liskeard to the West but if Exmouth do take promotion then Tavistock are safe. If Exmouth stay put, Tavistock are down but where will they go.

I personally would like them in the West Division and Oak Villa shunted to the East.

No promotions at this level are "confirmed" yet and any decision regarding them will be revealed by the relevant Leagues. Yes, Exmouth Town have clearly finished in a qualifying position for promotion and it is very likely that that will be the case but there are other things to take into consideration, including the FA's response to requests from Clubs for "sideways moves" into the Western League; as the FA have the final say on this, nothing is certain yet.

Of course it is ! In any case, what chance has anyone of getting on to the cornwall fa- this has been a closed shop for years.

Oh, So you've tried to get onto the Cornwall FA then? Didn't think so! Offer your services and they will grab it with both hands. There is no limit to the amount of people who can serve on the County FA. Go on, give it a go. We won't have to read your inane comments then!!

Any ideas on final promotions and relegations?

With exmouth not going up obviously Tavistock have been relegated and does this mean there will be relegations from the east or west league if all clubs from feeder leagues make the grade?

I understand there will be no relegation from East or West.

Up to 4 promotions from the feeder leagues dependent on achieving the appropriate league position and ground standard.
