ECPL cup - Bere Alston 3-2 Tavistock

Recommended Posts

It was pretty competitive at times, only a couple of yellow cards and overall was well controlled by the referee.

Bere went ahead through Kev Blatchford, after a period of pressure from Tavistock, Having settled Bere played the ball around well and used the width to good effect. Mistakes led to Tavistocks equaliser which was a looping shot into the top corner. Adam Reid put Bere ahead again after good play from Lee Blatchford, however Tavistock were able to draw level again after Bere lost possession on halfway and the pace of the Tavi striker took him through to score. 2-2 H/T

The second half was fragmented by offsides and niggly fouls at times. Sloppy defending by Tavi allowed Lee Blatchford to gain possession and score with a good finish. The final twenty minutes saw Tavi using the long ball which was dealt with by the Bere defence. Howells in the Bere goal had to be alert on a couple of occassions to deny a decent free kick and claim several corners. Bere were able to counter the Tavi attacks on numerous occasions but were unable to add to the score. Overall a deserved victory for Bere Alston which sees 6 wins out of 6 for the season. MOM for Bere : Nathen Harvey

Bere: C, Howells; J Crawford, M Wheeler, J Clancy, N Harvey; W Westlake© L Blatchford, A Reid; Z Beesley (J Blatchford), C Truscott ( I Crabb) , K Blatchford.
