I've been a little busy, and ill (man flu) lately - sorry you missed me. Anyway, in reply to the "muppets" jibe and so on, well, we did dump Spurs out of this cup in the previous round, at WHL, so what does that make your team? I actually watched the game on a crappy laptop stream, but I must say that Arsenal were deservedly beaten. Sheff Wed were up for this one, and were generally the better team on the night. It did not go well for Arsenal. Ok having 2 debutantes on the night, they may have been ok, but losing The Ox and Walcott so early, having to bring on another new player really did not help. They actually did not disgrace themselves. You will have seen the lack of critical comments about Arsenal's performance, quite rightly. They played quite well, but I agree with Wenger that these guys are not quite ready (although Bielik that came on after 60 mins look very good for a 17yo). It was just that Sheff Wed played much better. I hated Arsenal losing, but if there is a positive, there are less games to worry about, especially as we are now well placed to make a title challenge this year. Fighting on 4 fronts - there is no team capable of winning all 4 trophies, so left fighting for 3 is actually more realistic. I think if they get a drawn in Germany, they could still qualify in the CL. Very important match away at Swansea this week. The Swans are not going well lately, should be a good time to play them, so a win would confirm Arsenal's serious title challenge is still on track.

And finally, I see that the Chelsea doctor has started constructive dismissal claims. Good luck to her.

I can say, that I can always rely on you,to turn a negative into a positive.

Premier League challengers.??????? We all know if the League finished in December, the Goons would have won it on numerous occasion's

You know TOP 4 is the target.

CL qualification to the KO rounds.????????????????

Your gone,end of.

So its left to your only competition. The F.A Cup.

If you recieve the amount of luck in the draw ,as previous season's,then I would say you have a chance.

I will answer your next question, before you ask.Spurs targets.

Top 4.?  We have a great chance. With teams like Wet Spam Leicester around there at the moment. You would expect us to finish above them.Add to that Chelski's poor start, and Klopp's bedding in period.at Liverpool, there are places up for grabs.

Europe.? Looks to be that Poch is having a go at this ,after his team selection's this season. If we can get out of a difficult group, and avoid a Champions League reject until later,we can give anybody a game.

F.A Cup is the same as you .all down to the draw, really.

Changing a negative into a positive ... well there's a thought. I'd rather think in terms of "reality".

Reality is, Arsenal do have a team capable of winning the PL. I said team, not squad. Dependant on injuries, this is where things will get tough. They already have 6 x first team players side-lined, and the "youth" is clearly not ready. We could manage if one youth player had to fill in every now and again, but not on a regular basis.

Reality is, Arsenal will not win the CL. They can progress out the group, they can beat anyone on their day, but not on a regular basis. Too many good teams to play in the CL (after the group stage) will continue to find out the Arsenal weakness. Until they get some world-class striker and central defender, this will always happen. They have a "punchers chance" to even win it, but there are better teams, better equipped to win it.

Reality is, we can win the FA Cup again. Agreed, the draw helps, and I think Wenger will be prioritising the PL over everything this year, so the FA Cup squad may suffer, and harden the chances of winning it again.

Not sure what's going on at Chelsea, my guess is that their results will improve. Man City are a strong squad, Liverpool rubbish (until we see what may happen in January), Man Utd have improved but not there yet. I think Spurs have a great chance of top 3 - battle it out with Liverpool/Man Utd/Chelsea. I think Man City & Arsenal will be top 2.

The "special one" messed up big time with that doctor. He knows it, the players know it, every-one knows it.

Dead man walking.

You cant be a Goon or a Chelski supporter. They seem to have all disappeared. LOL.

sorry sss but sometimes there are more important things in life than football . yes stuffed by Wed  no excuses for that  but a good win at Swansea   still here but only been on forum today  glad we can still have the Arsenal  Spurs  banter  and like you Chelsea has  gone boobs up at present  great for the North London teams great chance for Spurs to crash the top four this season . going to cost Roman a fortune to put that right being new manager or players like a soap opera

Stuffed by Bayern as well no excuses here the German team a class act , Arsenal and Europe don't go together ,one fair's cup and a cup winners cup not a lot to show for all the years the gunners have competed in Europe  , in my opinion the club are only interested in earning money from being in it  as the squad is not good enough to compete with the elite of the continent

I was away again too. Did not see the game, but 5-1 is a bit of a hammering. Although qualification is "out of Arsenal's hands now", not really .... You see, BM will beat Olympiakos, and Arsenal will beat D Zagreb. So it's all down to the last match, in Greece, where the Gunners face a mighty task to win by 2 goals. Possible - but tough.

Now, moving to Sunday, could be a draw I fancy. Both teams have hit some form, previous CL ****-ups did not affect Arsenal PL form, and I don't expect it to this time either. Arsenal are hit by injuries, as usual, but that is not an excuse. There are enough first teamers available to compete.

Fair post mangle several injured would take a draw as gooners we get used to the injuries , will miss Theo's pace but Giroud has hit a purple patch , Pocahontas has done a good job at white fart lane  and with Kane they are always dangerous up front , to close to call  ,would like three points but a draw would be okay

Well, Spurs played a good game, and can be somewhat disappointed with a draw. I think they may have shaded the win on another day. I believe Arsenal improved second half, and just about forced the equaliser. With so many players out, Arsenal should be content with that. Spurs are on a good run, and capable of winning anywhere. I was a bit disappointed with Kane. Huffed and puffed, a bit greedy. I thought several other Spurs players were much better. Rightly, the MotM award went to Alli of Spurs.

Take the point  Spurs even with Kane could not take all their chances ,  imitation of the gunners don't put all their chances away ,  sorry older Kane is good but Sanchez is better all round player  I think though utd millions will be calling very soon  and you could lose him  , if that happens you could miss out on the top four

I hope Levy, sticks with what Pochettino is trying to do and build a team.

We have  the youngest squad in the Premiership.

Trouble is,if the young talent developes, the big fat vultures will circle.

Keep this squad together, and watch out.

COYS.

sss agree money talks  afraid this is the way of todays game , perhaps when your new stadium is up aand running and the extra revenue comes in will help but the flip side is see how long it has taken Arsenal to stop selling players , the so called financial fair play hasn't worked , so the only answer is if you can't beat them join them and hope for a billionaire to buy the club and spend spend spend , has worked for city and Chelski

Not a good sat for the gunners losing to WBA away and another couple of injuries ,   roll on the transfer window need reinforcements  to many crocks  same old Arsenal  always to scats behind . so much for the new head phsyio coming in to sort out the injury problems which has plagued the club for a few years now .

Yes,Im afraid we are approaching that time of the season, where the Goons season start ti disintergrate.

Results starting to stutter,in the Premier League, where they will battle to finish in the top four.

Injuries mounting and a Board/Manager reluctent to spend.

Out the Capital One Cup.Champion's League group qualification gone, with only Thursday night football to fight for.

Suppose they will put all their eggs into the F.A.Cup basket and pray for a easy draw like last season.

Happy days.

Funny sss and dear older the gunners are still here ,  and are spuds still in the old league cup ? Oh dear who knocked you out ?  FA Cup yes will take that , wouldn't you?  By the way when was your last trophy ? Can't remember , won tonight  but pub cup becoming not sure about that one , if you get knocked out of champs league  why should you be rewarded with a run in the Europa league  ? Have to win  in Greece by two clear goals,  can't see it , back to the original post Arsene needs to  buy in January  no excuses this time  spend the clubs money  reinforcements needed  to cover the old crocks ,

Sss sorry you feel sorry for the Gunners ( not)   but thanks for your concerns  not even Xmas yet and the prem league at present is wide open only 9 points between top and 10th place  which is exciting  for fans  no team is dominating  , all to play for , you should go on Mastermind subject stating the bleeding obvious , all fans know there is a major problem at the Emirates with injuries every season , they had supposed to have brought  a top sports injury person in the summer , but either the problem is deep rooted in the training / recovery of players  or this person is not the answer  , older is right to small a squad  to challenge  for top honours , the buck stops with Arsene and the board I am afraid ,  lots of players out on loan  but not to many seems to break through  to the main squad,   after the Xmas games any team can put a run together  interesting season who knows Spuds could make top four their best chance for a few seasons,   or even the title  that would be a surprise like Tyson Fury winning the heavy weight world title ,   how many years since the spuds last won the league ?  54  years ?  Keep posting  guys  great reading on a winter evening

Interesting you mentioned Fury....Jeez - I could beat him after that joke of a fight.

To many games is your downfall.

true older  not many left champion league though instead the Thursday pub  cup beckons  , should not be in it  it is like if you get knocked out the fa cup but can progress in the league cup ,  back to the squad Sanchez is like a race horse but he has been used like a shire horse  pulling the team along ,  coquelin  needed help but surprise he has been flogged  , no excuse needed cover , giroud ,Theo, two players for the strikers role , and Theo always out each season with injuries , Wilshire's dodgy ankle , misses a chunk of every season , our own clubs sicknote Rosicky  given new contract  and oh no out again and so on , Arsenal are one of the top money making teams in Europe , but we don't seem to get to grips with this basic problem , if the board don't want to spend cash on new players keep some of the youngsters instead of sending them out on loan , the old saying if you are good enough you are old enough comes to mind , if the manager doesn't have faith in the young players perhaps he needs to look into the coaches outside the first team squad ,  same mistakes each season  which let's the club down ,.

Tight at the top only eleven points between  11th  and top , glad to see Spurs looking up the table to their neighbours ha ha  the spuds draw specialists at the moment , and Leicester looking down on everyone, bet Romans wishes he had the tinkerman  instead of Maureen , funny the old girl has been a bit quiet recently ,

Pheew ,............. Good away performance. Game plan spot on tonight  ,controlled the game and a clean sheet to boot , no pub cup for the gunners ,  into the knock out stage again  , just need to progress a bit further than usual this season , three prem teams through , but what has happened to all the manc supporters very quiet on here for a long time ?  at least older and sss still post .just shows even though it pains me to say they are true fans not plastic fans who only post when they are winning trophies   , reds in the pub cup Fergie knew when to jump ship

You're going out, out ,out. COYS

How can you continue to say this BS? You post stupid comments, the one referenced above a clear example, get it completely wrong, and then just make another prediction. How come you got your last prediction sooooo wrong. Clearly Arsenal were not out. Tonight they proved it. Yes, some times you are right, law of averages, but you just write BS. I have already written what I think about Arsenal's chances in the CL, a realistic assessment as opposed to "we are better than Spurs and win everything". Let's have a realistic assessment of Arsenal and Spurs seasons....or is it a bit much for you?

Here we go again.

The Goons escape from a easy group, where they should have finish 2nd with out a problem.

Agree with Older.15 years getting to the knock out stages just mean more pennies.

Now prove us all wrong, and go and bloody win it.Then shout.

sss agree if we did not up the first two games  would have not gone down to the wire ,  but saying that it was a good away victory and seeing we hadnt beaten them at their place before  so got to be pleased with that , yes some extra money in the bank for getting through , which helps silent Stan to feather his USA nest , and would love to win it  but we would need to up the level of our games over two legs , with some luck and a good draw  who knows ?    Not crowing just glad to see a professional  performance from the team ,  personally  I don't see the Gunners through rose tinted glasses  but on our day with an injury free ( never happens)  squad  they can beat any team   .

I see Spurs through rose coloured specs................ just got to remember to clean them every so often.:Santa:

Here's my thoughts on Assenhole.

Very good team that passes itself to death. How many times have I watched them and shouted SHOOT - nope, another pass. That's why you won't win the big stuff, Premier, and Champions league.

Well, we are top at the moment. And what of Spurs? Losing at home to Newcastle. Tut tut. We all know who has true ambition of success here.

How many times have the Goons been top of the Premisrship around December.

You Goons still dont get it,you have to be top in May.

How many attempts at winning the Champions League, you are alway's bragging about it.

FACT ,Since Spurs were last  in the Champions League,Arsenal have FAILED to go further.

As for Spurs ,if you asked me at the start of the season with our young squad, you will only be 3pts off 4th place around Xmas.I would have bitten your arm off.

Still plenty to learn for our youngsters.

You'll blow it, history repeating itself.....again......and again.....and again.

Still, you will be happy counting your money, and saying - we're in the top 4 again....and again.....and again.

You know what I mean.

In most respects you are the same as Spurs, flatter to deceive.

You start the season full of hope, but your ambition is top four....ours is to win it.
