As the topic states Troon AFC are looking for a new manager for the 1st team for next season, i will be stepping aside due personal reasons, and nothing to do with the football club itself, but can honestly say whoever takes over will be walking into a very passionate and hard working club.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to come into a club which already boosts x2 of the best pitches around in the SW (my biased opinion!), x3 Saturday teams full of talented youngsters, a Sunday team, and the club are also looking into a youth team for next season to push the club forward. We have a fantastic bunch of people behind the scenes, ensuring the pitches are ready for match days, food and bar is sorted, the club works really close with the local village, and hosts a funday, 5 a side comp, the village bonfire night, for the size of the club it holds its own with any of the bigger clubs when it comes to drive, ambition and using their initiative.

I have really enjoyed my first stint at management, and have had some great times with what is a great bunch of lads, I will bow out after our end of season tour to Bournemouth which is something else this club is great at, socials!

Applicants will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence, for further information please contact me on 07896973085 or PM me on here.

Regards Jamie Marles

I can answer hat question for you being the seconds manager. We as a reserve team have lost 6 players over the past 3 weeks or so for different reasons (injuries, work etc), and whilst it is hard enough this time of season getting teams out on a Saturday alone,we have been hit with 3 games a week at the moment with the evening games with a 6.15 kick off being played at the grounds most furthest away from us. For these games we meet at 5 which dosen't help when most players finish work at half 5.

We also like to play by the rules and not bring in any illegal players from the first team to help and solely rely on 2nd team players. We do have a 3rd team but they also are playing 3 times a week although on different days from us but you can't expect them to help us out as they will be playing 5 games in 5 days!!!!

Hope this has helped?

We run a fantastic club at Troon and have a great team behind the scenes doing a lot for the club.

Thanks for the sarcastic reply.....pointing out local games!!!!! We also can't draw from the first team as they are senior and the reinstatement date has passed so are unable to play any. As for you getting to penzance from Truro well that is fantastic news also!!!
